Are you saying that we have to deprive the crazy Optimus Prime/Convoy fans of adding another piece to their already cluttered basement/bedroom?

That is the thing, P-P. Takara Tomy DOES NOT know their market in account that their stocks are worth an estimated $5 a share. And one part of that is in part of the fact they do not really know their market. Because if they did, they would have put out an actual reissue of Sixshot and not the one that was released in the Asian market.
In other words... You and those like you cover 1% or less of the market. Because the rest of the fanbase include a combination of the Dinobot fans, the city-bot fans, the Scramble City-style combiner fans, the non-Scramble City combiner fans, the Headmaster fans, the Targetmaster fans, the Godmaster fans, the Powermaster fans, the Headmaster Jr. fans, the Mini-Con fans, the Micromaster fans, the Action Master fans, the Powered Master fans, the Brainmaster fans, and the Pretender fans. And that excludes those who only prefer a single character, series, line, etc.
In other words... It is good that you collect a singular character. But remember that the market is, in fact, demanding a proper reissue of Sixshot... As well as G1 versions of the Dinobots (which can be done if they made an effort), G1 Artfire, and many more characters that are neither Optimus Prime or Convoy.
KUMA-NIN Maximus wrote:You mean within the past year it was not Takara Tomy that reissued series accurate versions of Soundblaster and Twincast, announced a series accurate Devastor, and also announced Fortress Maximus for their Encore line... Lambor, Alert, Soundwave, and two sets of Cassettrons for their Masterpiece line... And both Stepper and Artfire for the UNITED line?

Keep it civil man. You can discuss finances all you want but there's no need for ad hominem stuff here.

Secondly, they will not often use the name of an obscure character to push sales. Lastly, repaints and minor alterations to existing molds return higher profits than starting from scratch. Even third parties are capitalizing on this notion. If you don't like GT Prime, so be it. But to argue that Has-Tak only releases OP and Bee is just being asinine (not strictly referring to the above quotes though.) For the 1% who only collect OP toys, only 1% collect strictly Dinobot toys, only 1% collect Powermaster toys, only 1% collect Godmaster toys, and so on and so forth. The fanbase is huge. Most of us collect bits and pieces from all over the Transformers multiverse. However, I'm willing to bet that the overwhelming majority of Transformers toy consumers are kids, even if they themselves are not the customers.

Great ways of striking arguments against what I say when you both do not bother looking at all the facts! Such as this link explaining why they have seen a sharp decrease of an estimate 200 yen per share, which also impacts the amount they offer their share owners. Something that has them saying "we want to make money, but we need to adapt if we want to make a solid profit in the end." LINK: http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/business/T121008002198.htm
Which leads to my point. Takara Tomy has seen a steep decline in sales from April to October, which has forced them to refocus on their business plans. And while they say only 25% of the market are young girls, it does not mean the 75% are young boys. It means that they need to refocus on targeting those who seek out aftermarket pieces while focusing on those who want to play with their TV-series promoted pieces. (And FYI, both times I went to Japan had me near-religiously visit their Transformers aisle.)
Point being to this person is that by promoting this prototype, they are not trying to appeal to just the Optimus Prime fans. They are making it in hopes of expanding past their current G1, UNITED, and PRIME lines... By creating something that may allow them to expand the fanbase once again. However, he chose to snub the remaining 99% by saying that there is only one Transformer and that making this prototype means that they are listening to the market... Not the fact he has the chance to obtain another piece for his collection. Because as we speak, the item is fine and will sell well to select members within the Japanese market and secondary markets. But it would not sell as well as the Fortress Maximus reissue, or if they were to find a way to recreate the molds for select characters that fans are asking for.
And Rodimal? Your assumptions about me were as funny as the statement about how companies are out there to make a profit. Because I have stated that me not backtracking when it comes to my soon-to-be-AFA-graded-Transformers-because-I-hope-to-pass-onto-my-future-children collection has made it hard for me to both want one and not want one. Plus, my only dismissal of this piece involve the legs and feet! Not the fact that it is another Optimus Prime.
Point being... If you both know me, then you know I support his collection, as well as think this is a fine adult-oriented Transformer... But I cannot support his need to snub those who do not share both his love and enthusiasm for this character.
An increase in the percentage of sales devoted to income tax expenses from -0.74% to 2.27% was a key component in the falling bottom line in the face of rising revenues

I can either alleviate your desire for continuity or make it worse; there is not a single mention of the word Alternity on either of these images.

Well, if this is true, then maybe I don't have to include him in my collection. It'd save me a load since I'm already going to be forking over all funds for Banzai-Tron, Galvatron, MP Soundwave, MP Audicons, Asia "Imports," and TFCs Uranos.
