That Drift Origin deco is nice, but I don't see what is different about "Battle Mode" Jazz.

Battle Grimlock looks like a redeco of FoC Grimlock. Has the same sword. Paint me very interested in this one.

I'm not familiar with Black Shadow, is that a new mold or a re-use of an old one?

I'm liking the term battle used on these guys. Reminds me of the toys of my youth.

Also RiD Drift in G1 colours, re-release of the RTS/United Fremble guys, and finally Takara's version of Sky Shadow.

Black Shadow is a re-release of an old Generations mold of the same name. He's more of a Japanese character anyway (Transformers Victory), so this makes a little sense.

I'd love anIDW Drift of that mold, but me thinks Origin means Cybertronian alt--His Minicon shooter figure. Unless thats already been labelled?

Turns out it was a IDW Drift redeco. For some reason I dont think it works well on the figure, but that's just me. That new head sculpt looks super sweet though.

There is no difference with Jazz, which makes sense since none of the previous VS sets had changes on both figures.

And that looks like a crazy remold of FOC Grimlock. Like a complete reshell. The part that gives it away to me is the hands and shoulders. The tail looks to be designed way better than FOC grimlock was where it was obvious it was simply the legs. I might get this one.

And Blackshadow is a rerelease of a Hasbro toy from a few years back and that toy was itself a retool of Thunderwing. I am personally not a fan of that mold, it has as much robot kibble under the jet as Silverbolt.

And I am glad there is another Optimus. Of course, Takara needs to milk that mold like any other and since it was sold out everywhere, I am glad people will have another chance to get it. Not a fan of the all spark blue he will sport (if that is what the pictures are trying to say) so I am still glad I got the original, even though I like this one's sword.

Thanks Will.. I didn't realize that Drift and Jazz was a vs 2 pack. I'm liking that Drift so I may have to double dip on Jazz.

Grim my is looking pretty awesome, I'm excited he is a voyager and can't wait to see him colored up.

I'll have to check the galleries on that Black Shadow.

What's also odd about Takara's TAV Powerglide is that the sight on the inside of his "butt flap" is still painted blue for the sake of his fun mode, like in the Hasbro CW version. Color me confused on that one.

I'm most excited about this new Grimlock. After some people mentioned it, yeah, it does look like an extensive retool of FoC Grimlock, but they seem to have solved the "fat tail" problem rather nicely. It looks very well done, and might be the most on-model mold of the character yet, oddly enough. It's going to look great standing alongside TAV Swoop and Slag. Oops, sorry. Didn't mean to offend the British fans out there. I meant TAV Swoop and Slut! :DANCE:

Actually, TAV 24 represents Micron Shooter Fracture.

TAV 21 is the new Optimus Prime coming out this month. TAV 33 will be the "Supreme" retool/repaint coming in October.

They actually are pretty good, only downside is that the "thumpers" are a little touchy, and will pop out at the lightest touch, so transforming them can be fun. The United deco's are great too, just the right amount of metallic paint, so it'll be interesting to see how well the TAV versions turn out - but I won't be double dipping.

Black Shadow looks sweet, but then so did the Hasbro Sky Shadow, so again no double dipping for me.

That Drift/Jazz two pack might work for me though, as both moulds are pretty sweet, and it'd be cool to stick them both next to their United counterparts on my shelf.

Grimlock.... as much hate as the FOC mould got, it was one of my first voyager figures when I started collecting, and one of my favourite characters from the game that started me collecting, so I've got a bit of love for it - this version looks pretty damn sweet, and might pick it up, if I start seriously considering collecting RiD figures - currently only focus on the Classics-verse, but I do have TAV Strong-arm in my HLJ Private Warehouse atm....

Hardly anyone is talking about the crossover Qs. That Snoopy one surprised me the most. It's just completely random. Peanuts meets The Transformers. Sounds like hell for both sides. :michaelbay:

Yeah I didnt understand the comment. This Optimus isnt bigger than the previous one TAV 21 coming out this month. And he's only leader class, so the same size as the previous Leader Optimus figures.

The more I look at that Drift repaint, the more I become more comfortable with owning two Drifts and two Jazzseses. I'm weak. :lol:

As this was listed as "Drift Origin & Battle Mode Jazz", The Jazz will probably look different from the one pictured here that might be serving as a placeholder.
