eh pass. Not so great on it's own and just like the original one it really weakens the look of Optimus Prime when combined making it look far too dorky. Suppose that's the best they could do while staying true to the original G1 toy but I always preferred Prime (or Ginrai or whatever) on his own anyways.

It won't. Different set of feet. Ginrai has those skinny ones while Hb Optimus has those big boots.

We've got a rumored product listing for Apex Bomber or something like that as part of a box set, so I wouldn't count it out just yet.

Let me say that I'm really impressed with what we've got here. It looks great, it functions great, only slight negative is the silly-looking wings over the shoulders. It's a fantastic update to a kind of brickish toy.

He isnt leader Class, or else the price would be very different. He is more like a voyager.

What is odd is how Takara still made him a headmaster.

And while i think this is super cool, I really dislike how small it makes the Optimus head look. Plus, there seems to be a big space between where the Optimus trailer ends at the bottom of his legs and where the feet connect (its where they palce the weapons) which is a shame since it means the Optimus feet could have been more filled out with the trailer hanging all the way down initially.

This looks really friggin awesome with the exception of, as said, the wings. Really hope they can be moved down a bit.
And finally the feet don't look atrocious! Yaaaay!

Yeah I saw that and its a good point, but since this is so far a japanese exclusive toy I am not sure the same rules apply. Takara can do as they wish, they dont mind having toys in between classes and not pertaining to a specific class. And he looks much smaller than Optimus in every mode.

The head only looks tiny cuz of how big all the armor kibble has to be to fit around the body. Otherwise, his head would have to be as bulbously oversized as it was on the G1 mold, which would make Super Ginrai look rather silly.

That is a sweet looking robot and I love it. hopefully the rumored hasbro release comes and somehow still work, cause I want one
