steals_your_goats wrote:That is a very misleading listing. I still don't know which way I'll go with this one. The Hasbro one isn't bad and will be cheaper and easier to get, but the Takara one looks so much better.

Your in australia right? I forget. But if you are, I would think Takara would be a good option since the shipping from Japan would be less than from Japan to North America, no?

Everytime I try to shop online the shipping is so expensive.
BBTS shipping to Australia is like $75.

Forget those guys. What about actual japanese companies, like HLJ. https://www.hlj.com/
MGrotusque wrote:This is a gorgeous mold. Takara takes it in the colorways department but everyone forgets how awesome Animated Blurr was. That figure knocked it out of the park. I'm kinda hard pressed to purchase another Blurr after having owned the Animated version. That mold really portrays speed in bot mode better than any other.
steals_your_goats wrote:william-james88 wrote:Also that price statement is wrong too. You are getting an extra vehicle with Takara's and it's price is actually 22$ US http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1
That is the legit price you would find him at retail in Japan. Hasbro's at retail (if you find him ) would be 17.99$ + 4.99$ for that vehicle and titanmaster. So 22.98$ USD. Meaning that looking at the price, the Hasbro version would be 1$ more and give you an extra titanmaster. And of course, you dont get any of that awesome paint.
So the Hasbro one loses on all accounts objectively, and being as global and general as possible.
Blurr and scourge do not come with the extra vehicle only hard head and skull cruncher do so you are definitely paying more for Takara than Hasbro this time.

Blurr and Scourge don't come with extra vehicles, so they also come with a reduced price. Check for yourself. Willy-J's point still holds. Willy, stand up for yourself more. Don't be bamboozled by flawed logic!

steals_your_goats wrote:Yeah that's all fine and dandy but the fact of the matter is you're not paying what Takara sets you're paying what the retailers are selling it for. Takara can set whatever price they want for it but unless you live in Japan that's not what you're paying. So it's entirely fair to say that Takara products cost more, they may not domestically retail for more money but they cost more to the rest of us.

That's kind of a "well duh," though. If that was the only point you were trying to make, why say it? We all know we pay more for Japanese products outside of Japan. For some of us, that's worth it, if it means the product is superior (whether objectively or just subjectively) to what is more readily available domestically. Willy-J was making a statement about the value of what Takara puts on their product versus what Hasbro does, which is to say they are priced about the same for their respective markets.

Well, this is one nice thing about a preorder. Personally, I find the Takara options most tempting when it's a deco I'd be tempted to repaint myself. Factory paint and molded plastic beat what I could do and the price difference is less than I'd spend on supplies.
