Surprised they didn't show Wilder. Clouder is getting some before him!

Doublecross' comic oughta be one hell of a read. First they've gotta explain why he has a Targetmaster and who it is, then why he's a Headmaster, AND why his Headmaster looks like White Leo. This is gonna be fuuuun

Probably be the same reason Hot Rod and Blur and Kup are. Went to planet micro, ended up in the Legends universe got a transtector and teamed up with a targetmaster

I'm not. They've never retooled any previous triple changers and just because fans don't like it doesn't mean takara wouldn't. Takara did engineer broadside after all.

Most of the three toys in this range are triple changers and Takara has remolded Ginrai and Sixshot, to name a few.

Broadside's jet mode is simply a lost cause.

I still think he can be saved. A liiiiiitle remolding in the boots, Add proper rotators in the thighs so the legs can swivel all the way around, and in jet mode they flip over to the top of the jet like Jetfire boosters (point the feet forward)

And yeah, I don't get why Takara is going with the sub mode for Sixshot either.

To me the biggest crime is the positioning of the wings. They're placed right on the bottom of the jet; if they were up higher - perhaps on level with the cockpit - it would help so much.

Also, to me this is the best Kup has looked so far.

Those shapes and proportions are dead-on. If it weren't for the hollowness of that arm and the headmaster pieces showing, I could have mistaken this for an MP Kup. Mold is perfect.

See, I'm excited for this Misfire as his colors are a little more muted and he has the Targetmaster. He is also a figure I will not see for probably 3 months so waiting a bit longer for the legends may be worth it. I bought Kup, but still sort of want the legends version. And I would like a good targetmaster, though hopefully that is something that is in line for the line after Titans Return

Based on the gun mode, it looks like Haywire, American Blurr's Targetmaster.

Last we saw of Doublecross in the series, he was on Planet Beast. So.... White Leo got injured in an attack. Brainstorm was there and said he can be saved, if he gets put in some medical equipment, but there is none in the field. Doublecross volunteers his head to act as the life support (he has 2 other heads anyway, he isn't gonna miss one). Boom. White Leo is a headmaster for Doublecross. And introduces the American version of headmasters into the Japanese series, without overdoing it.

I don't know. Have they? I struggle to remember what happens in the pack in/online comics/Funpub stuff. I'll have to wiki leo prime now.

I'm not opposed to them doing this as a set, although it better be different from the original release of Convey and Go Bomber otherwise, it's such a rip off just to get the other two heads, and I do want at least the Minerva Head. They should just have made the full figure for her. I know her old headmaster was a different color scheme then the American release, so finding a body for her would be difficult.

The American release was Nightbeat who also hasn't gotten a full figure this line, so yeah, different colour scheme doesn't change much.

It's strange too; both are very popular characters - easily the most popular of their groups - and you can easily recolour one into the other with some minor tooling changes. Would've thought Hasbro or Takara would have jumped on this idea instantly...

At the beginning of his pack-in comic, he's in his Japanese TF: Prime body, but gets devolved to his original "Convoy" body from the first episode of BWII (which is represented by his little Headmaster body). Crashing into the Legends Universe, he lands in the home of the Legends Universe version of Lio Convoy and Lio Junior. And much later, the Legends Universe version of Lio Convoy gets turned into a full-blown robotic lion, whom Leo Prime combines with to form the head of the robot mode. So, technically, the body is Legendsverse Lio Convoy while the head is JG1 cartoonverse Leo Prime.

You really think they were the most popular? Personally I think it was Cancer and Shuta. Yeah when the series started they were a thing but as it went on Cab became Autobot headmaster junior number 2 and Minerva became a plot point to show Cancer he's not that bad of a kid.

Eh, I only ever see people talk about Minerva. Depends on what part of the fandom you're coming from I guess.

In any case, point is it's strange to see them pass up something so easy.

Got some hot news about the God Ginrai set from these two TFW posts!

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/lg-ex-god-ginrai-box-set-with-minerva-and-cab-headmasters.1110023/page-3#post-14659876
According to the card in this image, box set God Ginrai will have clear and "mekki" (i.e. metallic or chrome plated) parts.

I guess that means they're going full on G1 toy bling for the front of Godbomber and the sword.

Image

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/lg-ex-god-ginrai-box-set-with-minerva-and-cab-headmasters.1110023/page-3#post-14660157
So it appears the windows on Super Ginrai will be molded in clear plastic.

It looks like they are going for G1 Japanese toy deco with this version. They'll probably chrome some of Ginrai's truck parts like the smokestacks and grill.

So it's not a straight re-packing of the separate Super Ginrai and Godbomber toys, but a set of toy-accurate redecos!

Also, the Wiki has provided English summaries for both Godbomber's pack-in comic and the Black Convoy Prologue comic:
Godbomber was a robot that supported Ginrai throughout the Devil War. It was granted life of its own thanks to the Chōkon Power of Shūta Gō, Cab and Minerva, but lost that life when the death of Devil Z caused the Masterforce warriors to lose their ability to wield Chōkon Power. Now that they have regained it, a new Bomber Project has begun in the Legends Universe.
Rhinox is overseeing the construction when Minerva approaches him and requests a look at the design plans, then promptly copies them and turns to leave only to run into the real Minerva! The impostor reveals herself to be Minerva's Legends counterpart, the detective and Masterforce warrior Nightbeat. She explains that she's working for Rewind, who believes Godbomber is the key to understanding Master-Braces, but also Curse Armada Thrust and Trickdiamond from another universe, who want to use it to conquer this world. Rewind protests against working with Decepticons, but Nightbeat forces him to cooperate, arguing that his request will be fulfilled in the end. Chromedome attempts to stop them, but the Decepticons blast him with Godbomber's weapons before escaping with it. They leave behind some spare parts, however, including the most essential one: Godbomber's main body, a new Headmaster.
Nightbeat's crew bring Godbomber to Decepticon Tera-Kura Co. where they've struck a deal with Weirdwolf's Headmasters, who finish the construction in exchange for its use in enacting Scorponok's will, overthrowing Megatron and conquering the universe. To make up for the missing parts, Nightbeat volunteers to form the head to test the limits of her strength, telling Thrust and Trickdiamond to form the legs. When Super Ginrai arrives to recover his drone, he is challenged to a duel by a Godbomber controlled by Nightbeat, who wants to see if she can defeat even him. Despite employing his new Getmaster powers, Ginrai finds himself overwhelmed and skewered on Godbomber's sword.
Meanwhile, the three Headmaster Juniors hold the hands of Godbomber's Headmaster and commune with the robot like they did once before, allowing it to reactivate and thank them for bringing it back to life. They put together a second Godbomber body and set out to save Ginrai, using the real deal to overpower Nightbeat and combine with Ginrai to form God Ginrai once more. Having learned from Grand why Godbomber is so powerful, God Ginrai explains that it serves to connect all forms of Chōkon Power into one—as such, it's a kind of Master-Brace that connects humans and super robot lifeforms. Nightbeat realizes the answer to the mystery of Master-Braces is that they bridge the gap between organic and robotic life, then has her Godbomber blown to smithereens by God Ginrai's God Fire Cannon.
As Ginrai celebrates his reunion with Godbomber, the defeated Nightbeat brags to Rewind that she did solve the mystery after all... and also acquired technology from Godbomber that will be come in handy for a future project.

Somewhere in space, Black Convoy leads the Combatrons and Gelshark in an attack on Neo Brave Maximus, headquarters of the Autobot Dimensional Patrol. The Autobots launch the Super Spy Changers for a counterattack, but their damage to the enemy ship's engines causes it to crash into Maximus, allowing their foes entry into the base. Fire Convoy is unconcerned about the impact, their new base having been granted to them by Vector Sigma itself to replace the original Brave Maximus, though Speedbreaker worries that there are no human children around to power up Brave. When Fire Convoy requests a Member Select from Ai, he finds that her systems have been hacked and taken over by the enemy's own tactical computer, Dark Ai, and he is soon approached by Black Convoy and Baldigus who demand the release of Devil Gigatron.
However, Devil Gigatron is already there waiting for them, and to their shock he reveals that he has turned over a new leaf and given up on his evil ways. His time with the Dimensional Patrol and Skids has taught him of the threat posed by malevolent higher lifeforms like the Cloud beings and Zamojin, and he has decided to join his old friend Fire Convoy and dedicate his eternal life to protecting dimensions from such threats. He apologizes for brainwashing Black Convoy into a villain and asks him to join them, but Black Convoy is enraged, having embraced both his identity and the evil in his heart. Intent on fulfilling Gigatron's abandoned ambitions himself, Black Convoy attacks his former leader and attempts to absorb the source of power in his spark, but is held back by Gelshark who remains loyal. Gigatron transforms into his Devil Ostrich mode and extracts the evil he once infused Black Convoy with, reverting him against his will to his original form—the protoform of a heroic Autobot.

She's popular because she's 'the girl' her contribution was for teen love triangle for shuta and cab and then became side characters when the god masters started showing up then they became people who stood around screaming "GINRAI!!!!!" whenever he got shot it punched. by the end she became a plot point for Cancer. Kinda didn't do anything until kissplayers crawled into the franchise.

Other than the godmasters, shuta because he was master force's spike until Ginrai came along. Cancer was the only other one that had actual character sevelopement and a story.

It is frustrating to see that, once again, Minerva will be available through expensive means (the first time as a Botcon figure and now, an expensive gift set that I already have both major figures in it). Why doesn't she get a ****** general release? I really like the idea of her getting a Titan master, why can't we just buy her alone?

I hate it soo much but you're probably right. Although I really want a Minerva (I only have the KO Aladdin version from a few years ago with the reprolabel set), I don't think I want to buy this set. I like Ginrai but Godbomber, from what I've seen from the reviews, seems awful. I really hope Hasbro release a different set with Minerva and Cab on their own. After all, they did make a set with Ginrai. I was genuienly happy about that and give me hope they might do the same in the future.
