It's either or with Tomy wj88 with regards to Megatron, I'm expecting this to have the G1 toy color theme...........shinier.
As for Tankor, I need some convincing to get the figure now that you mentioned him. Based on your posts, he looks great. Easy buy (cheaper than RB and Whirl)but TF universe wise, this is BW and, not too much into him.
Mind you, I've got much uglier figs like Straxus, henkei Galvatron and Octane.

Well, he is more show accurate in both looks and transformation than any of those three. And I actually have a huge soft spot for galvatron, I think that sculpt is remarkable. I sent you a Pm in regards to better places to get Tankor if you're interested.

Appreciate the effort wj88. Tankor is technically no problem purchasing, it's the "should I get him or not" that's the problem. Been to tfwiki and dug about his back story...........quite ironic that the Rhinox fig sold out fast and this one didn't.
He'll be on my to buy list for now.

On that note, I strongly recommend you watch Beat Machines, it's one of the better written TF shows, and it will help you deal with the simplicity in Tankor's transformation (takara actually did a great job with this one).

Armoured Trooper Dorvack Reborn!!!!!!!!!!!

The coincidences sometimes is unnerving.

Not badly written ... but damn did the ending suck.
However, since this is Takara we're dealing with here, the question of which "G1 toy color scheme" comes into play since Takara released G1 Megatron in not just more than one color scheme, but with each one being different from Hasbro's.fenrir72 wrote:It's either or with Tomy wj88 with regards to Megatron, I'm expecting this to have the G1 toy color theme...........shinier.

The original Japanese Megatron release had no shiny colors and had all its reds replaced with blue:
Then there was the "Good Bye Megatron" release that still had the unchromed gray but had the blue parts red like the Hasbro toy:
Later 21st century reissues would see Takara release the original Hasbro deco of shiny gray with red parts (but with the Encore release having a slight tan tint to its silver colors), minus the Chronicle release using the "Good Bye Megatron" deco of non-shiny gray with red.

What you consider ugly as sin I consider glorious! I wish I could put the Hasbro version's eyes on the United version's face...

Sabrblade wrote:When it comes to bad guys in general, there tends to be two kinds of ugliness. Cool ugly and awful ugly. Cool ugly is when the character's ugliness is fitting or beneficial to selling the character, helping them to look intimidating or just overall cool-looking, sometimes even to the point of "so ugly it's beautiful/gorgeous/handsome/etc." Awful ugly is when the ugliness is just too much to bear and ends up being a turnoff for the viewers, sometimes even to the point of being gross out disgusting or nightmarishly scary to look at.
I guess now the question is, "Is 'scary' cool or awful?"fenrir72 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:When it comes to bad guys in general, there tends to be two kinds of ugliness. Cool ugly and awful ugly. Straxus in this case is "scary"ugly!

It almost looks to me like that gap is where his insignia was supposed to go, but wound up being beneath it instead.Tsutsukakushi wrote:don't like that rectangular gap in the upper rectangular chest. Think it looks like Megatron is wearing a vest. Would love it if a shapeways guy created a gap filler piece to fill in the upper robot chest.

Standing a majestic 25cm tall, Megatron transforms into a burly tank with a firing cannon! The metallic silver paint makes this amazing version of the Decepticon leader really stand out. Don't miss out, place your order now!
