nicozon.net has posted a video promoting Transformers Prime coming to Japan. The short video features clips from cartoon and shows off some of the figures from Takara'a accompanying toy line, though it's hard to tell how different they are from their Hasbro counterparts. I saw the US version of Prime at NYCC 2011 and the colors are so vibrant and metal like looking hopefully they come out of mass production that way. Look almost custom.

Anyone else find it odd how the Autobots aren't called "Cybertrons" and the Decepticons not being called "Destrons"? :???:

Think it might have to do with the Bay Movies, could have changed the branding and gotten rid of the japanese faction names?

It's been like that ever since the first movie from 2007(!). For the newer continuities TakaraTomy now uses only the US names, including the "Autobot" and "Decepticon" prefixes. These lines use them:

- Movie
- Revenge
- Animated
- Darkside Moon
- United (which is odd, since it's a G1 offshoot)
- Prime

Can't feel but pity for the Japanese kids though. Can you imagine them trying to say "Oputimasu Puraimu" or "Deseputikon"?
