Question-- Are the details on Comp's chest plate going to be white-ish, or red-ish as they are in those convention photos??
I'm hoping for the white.

They might have a somewhat iridescent quality, meaning the color changes depending on how the light hits the paint details. That would be pretty cool to pull off on a figure.

I placed my pre-order for Computron last night. I would love to go with the Hasbro option, but the straight Superion head repaint as well as lack of retooling on the combined mode torso hurt him. Scrounge, Afterburner and Strafe are nice on the Hasbro version, as are the dedicated hands and feet, but then Lightspeed and Nosecone were very disappointing considering they are straight repaints, and Brawl just doesn't fit Noescone individually to me. Plus I hate that tank mold.

UW Computron has the new head and retooled torso bits as well as Scattershot robot mode bits, making him look more like the Scattershot I'd like. Rook into Nosecone was a great choice and it is my favorite mold, and it has a massive drill, so I'm excited. Wheeljack into Lightspeed made more sense to me plus he had a new head and everyone has new weapons, which I like. And then with Strafe and Afterburner I am getting 2 new molds with this one, which is exciting considering, save Sky Lynx and Brawl, I haven't got a new mold since Rook/Hot spot/Groove back last September.

Overall, this is the definitive Computron to me. Hasbro is still good for those who want it, but I appreciate the whole extra mile of retooling that Takara took.

I'm seeing 3 different shades: one shade for the head, one for the hands and thighs, and another for the lower legs, body and arms.

One thing I am wondering is that if the colour on Afterburner is important (which it is), then how are you ok with the green on the Hasbro version? Is it not as big an issue?

But would it still look better if you flipped the wheel 180 in the back and had that nice blue add to the red and white colour pallet? Because I do agree with you that looking at them transformed differently, Hasbro's does look quite good.

I would still prefer the Hasbro version, because of the orange. I don't mind the look of the blue (or the green, for that matter), but I'm going with whichever one has the main color that I like better.

It really is just a matter of preference. The colors of Afterburner for Hasbro are more Original Transformer toy accurate, TT is more original animation accurate. However... I wonder why the colors of Blue & Green were chosen for the windshield? In both the case of the toy & animation, you think they would have went with clear as in the case of Deluxe Groove, I'll be getting both, and I admit both the blue and the green are appealing for differing reasons, I just wonder how/why that decision was made?

Takara has revealed 0 plans for him, victorion, and the G2 sets. They are all hasbro exclusive so far.

Somehow I don't think I had seen either of these... Maybe they were back in a page I missed when I was on vacation. Anyway, these do look awesome!!
Kinda funny, getting these in August (I'm waiting for Brut so I get free shipping from TFSource) makes getting Groove in Oct. seem just a little mehhh. Although I haven't opened my HotSpot yet, so that helps.

I do have to admit... while Takara's colour schemes don't always do it for me and I sometimes like Hasbro's better, Takara always knocks it out of the park with their boxart and stock photography. These are just so badass, I honestly wouldn't mind using one of them for my laptop wallpaper.

Which UW Combiner do you think will be your favorite??

Well, Computron will be the clear winner as he is the only UW one I am getting (and I feel ya with TFsource. I needed something for the free shipping so Roadbuster had to do, not that Sins of the Wreckers has helped that at all). All the other combiners I have were Hasbro (well, Magnaboss is Botcon sorta, but still counts), so this will be awesome!

Now in relation to the hasbro ones I have, he may actually be the favorite. I love Defensor and he is my favorite combiner, and I love him with Rook and Groove as a chest minion, but there is something about the jet torso that just oozes awesome. Plus, of my combiners the jet torso is the one that is most likely to stand straight, as both Defensor and Bruticus do have to have the ratchets clicked by an extra tick and their weight leans them forward closer to standing up straight. Menasor has the bad hips and I've not been a huge fan of that torso, so he's the least favorite. Devastator is awesome and easily the best in combined mode, but the individuals did suffer a bit, but I wasn't too disappointed since he's pretty much always combined. Optimus Maximus and Sky Reign were split up, with the Sky Reign guys minus Wheeljack plus Mirage going to Cyclonus for a Lost Light combiner (of my own making based on the comics) while Wheeljack stayed by himself as a standalone and, with an extra Prowl, the Maximus guys went with another Silverbolt and the stickers to form Magnaboss. Battle Core Optimus and Sky Lynx are standalones as well. And then there is Superion, who was my first of the CW guys and still rocks, seeing as how the jets match the hand/foot guns perfectly and he has nice proportions.

So yes, Computron has serious potential to be the best and favorite of my combiners. Besides, how can one say no to a frikkin' drill hand?!?
