Something they tried in the US that didnt take. It showed that the ketchup didnt need to be red and could be any colour. But I guess people preferred their ketchup red, to live with the illusion that there was some tomatoe wholesomeness to it. The idea for different coloured ketchup ended when sales were terrible.

Preorders available for a 3rd? time on UW Computron. I took the plunge this time.

Yeah, I placed an order for the UW.

Like a lot of people said, if the Hasbro one was the only game in town, I'd probably be satisfied, but the Takara version just offers so much more. Shame since I would've liked Scrounge.

Now I just need to wait for Liokaiser since my Decepti-combiners are way outnumbered.

Preordered UW Computron this am from BBTS. It was available as of 10am. It was available a week ago per WJames, but sold out on Sunday. I guess BBTS secured additional stock recently? Couldn't pass it up again.

no doubt. It is odd that at least on BBTS UW 01-04 are still available (although I think Superion is a 2nd release) and all the ones from UW-05 are sold out (with the exception of Lynx Master, which I assume will sell out closer to its actual release if not soon after).

Grand Galvatron is by far the seemingly most popular. I cant believe I had one for a short 2 months then decided to sell it (out of necessity, not because I wanted to..), the thing is already at least 1.5 times what 3rd party sellers were asking.

The Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors line has brought me back into the toy part of Transformers after a more than 10 year absence as many of you know. It has had some amazing results, but also some frustrating ones. One of them being…additional Voyager toys created with no “Real” combined form. Creations such as “Ultra Prime”, “Galvatronus”, “Betatron” etc… rely on you to use random limbs from other combiners. This is great for imagination, not so great if you are trying to build an army of combiners. So I took a long look at the unique mold usage of limbs from both the CW line, UW, and of course convention exclusives & TFSS. I came up with, what I believe to be the *best* way to obtain the most usage of all molds, and get the most amounts of unique combiners (to date…)…

But it’s as close as I could get for now. Also I know some additional UW toys may be coming down the line, but still… an army of 18 basically completely unique combiners is pretty impressive.

Bluestreak is the bonus figure from this year. Next year's bonus figure will also be a CW Deluxe

If that is the case...then TF wiki needs to be updated...it still says Wreckage has a "Mystery 5th member" which I assumed corresponded to the only other figure (TFSS 5.0 #7) which has not yet been revealed. If it does turn out to be so...I'll just swap out Bluestreak on Optimus Maximus to be whatever that *mystery* figure is, or if that Mystery Figure is not a CW Deluxe, then I'll give Op Max Unit-3 then Tigatron will be all alone... .

I know this probably sounds like an overly simplistic question...But I wonder if anyone from Hasbro or Takara has ever been asked why their design teams do not work together?

I dont understand how people can think Takara and Hasbro have not worked on Computron together when they have the same bloody toy in both of their sets:

No, it was confirmed by Hasbro in an interview I posted a few times that Hasbro was well aware of the plans for Computron and that it didnt suit what they wanted to do. They picked a few elements (like afterburner) but dealt with the rest a different way.

Hasbro and Takara work together constantly to the point where it is sometimes hard to know who did what. Its a really cool relationship.

But Takara does not profit from purchases made by non-Japanese consumers

Takara makes a profit from every Takara product sold, why would that not be the case? Do you think BBTS got their Unite Warrior toys for free? I am not Japanese but I made an order and gave money to Anime Export, which used it to order Computron from Takara. Its the same thing that happens if you buy a Hasbro product from a BBTS. They pay hasbro, you pay them.

For Hasbro, their releasing Computron is a huge deal. For Takara, their releasing Computron is just standard procedure.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I suspect registering the patents for the parts new to the U.S. has thrown a wrench into directly importing UW Computron, among other things. Aside from Afterbreaker, the only figure with new parts is Strafe, the rest have all been registered (and approved) before (don't know if Scrounge is a pretool). Plus, the hands and feet are static pieces with less restrictions I'd assume. In contrast, UW Computron has:

- new parts for Scattershot, Nosecone and Lightspeed
- new parts for Strafe, who is based on a not-yet-registered toy (Blast Off)
- new accessories

Getting all that legalised may have taken too much time, so with a few short cuts the US got a "redeco Computron", more or less.
