That Bot wrote:I'm referring more to where they put the sockets for the arms and legs of Liokaiser to attach to, since they'll have to either have beefy deluxes or combine areas to compensate for the lack of natural bulk a voyager figure would have in its arms and legs. But maybe I'm overthinking it, we'll see what happens.

It stopped me literally mid-purchase from buying the Hasbro combaticons from Kapow. I got underpaid this month, and in light of news I got over the holidays which will see me being tighter on my finances for at least the next 18 years... I was having a really hard time accepting having to lay out the £100 or so to nab a Bruticus while I could, in case the wave got skipped.
Though, on the downside, I'm staring down the barrel of Computron, Liokaiser *and* Bruticus now... At least aside from them, and some of the legends figures, the only things I need to pick up from the first 2 quarters of 2016 is Skylynx.
I've still yet to find anywhere that's selling the Wave 1 2016 legends class figures separately, so that I can avoid pipes (and shocky, if he gets included in the UW Butey set.).
That said, if anyone has a Chopshop and Buzzsaw they're not fond of, drop me a line!

I love that they are adding the extra rotors to Vortex. and Blastoff looks like an aerialbot retool to me, albeit very extensive, just with the way the shoulder looks with the "shuttle front"
Hey, long time no see, D![]()
He could indeed be an extensive re-tooling of an aerialbot, I see no reason why not, as they essentially share shoulders, but, they may have wanted to make him more 'blast-off' with the shuttle nose becoming his arms, that was pretty iconic of the figure
Hey screamer! Just got off break, so I'm catchin back up and I'm here to stay for a while too! Actually, with the way the aerialbots arms and jet fronts do transform, I could see Blastoff using the arms as the jet front and still using similar transformation. hmm
Yeah, I noticed a long time ago that you could arrange skydive's tailfins to look like foc blast-off's, always wanted that to pan out, but I knew I was kidding myself

My tot (okay he's a bit older now) loves cars, boats, planes, trains and animals so all my collection is fair game to himthough he does have his rescue bots to keep him happy but then again he's really taken with dreadwing and smokejumper (the green 2001 rid redeco) and alpha bravo...

Your kid has great taste. I was 5 when I got dreadwing and smokejumper (G2 version) and they were my first TFs ever (kinda dissapointed at first since I asked my parents for a robot for christmas and expected a tall humanoid robot that could play with me, I was unaware of technological limitations and only had 80s/early 90s pop culture to rely on).

I remember my first figure was BW Grimlock, got him for my birthday, and took days to figure out how to transform him...
Sounds like you might have been happier if that had instead gotten you something like G1 Fort Max or one of the Jumbo-sized Megazords.william-james88 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote: he's really taken with dreadwing and smokejumper (the green 2001 rid redeco) and alpha bravo...

So glad I waited for the Takara version.
But now we wait to see if its exclusive or not.
Exclusive in what way ? Unite Warriors Defensor is in stock everywhere. I dont think there is a collector alive who wanted this set but couldnt obtain it. The only thing "exclusive" thing about the Defensor set was the higher price. Just cause they slap a "Takara Mall" monkier on it doesnt mean a thing. Its a mass release intended for those who dont mind spending an extra 30 bucks for a real Groove.
Ill be all over this takara bruticus no matter what monkier they slap on it. On a side note, the "work in progress" slapped on his chest leads me to believe they might be shooting for a cartoon accurate chest shield transformation that intergrates with blast offs shuttle wings. That would be so freaking awesome !
Exclusive meaning it would cost more to obtain it since we<d have to go through another party than a direct takara seller.
Exclusive these days doesnt mean we cant get, just that it would end up costing more. And of course, we<d always preffer for it to cost less. So more like UW Superion and less like UW Defensor.
And its not an extra 30$ for everyone.
UW Superion cost me 116$ US shipped (from Japan to canada)
UW Defensor would cost me 212$US shipped (from BBTS to canada)
So It being TTMall exclusive ends up costing me 100$ more US. I would VERY MUCH want to avoid that since I cant afford spending 100$ extra for this.
It's that time of the year again.........
Back to Bruticus, I was just checking the propeller clearance for Blades in Guardian. Two blades have enough clearance in limb mode but if the silhouette of Vortex is indeed accurate with "four" blades, then TT might be adding an extra "mm" on the connector to allow for clearance. That might mean a major re-tool and not just the typical TT pimping of the mold. Here's hoping this also applies to the cockpit too
Cyberpath wrote:I got UW04 mainly for the composite mode; it's great, just the size of it, and the fact that a figure of his stature can be so poseable and cartoon-accurate.
I wasn't that excited about the individual Constructicons initially; maybe EMS' greed clouded my enthusiasm. But having them in their separate mode for the last couple of weeks, I'm really really liking them.
They look great next to LG13 Megatron & MP-13 Soundwave -- the shelf looks like a screen cap from the show. The transformations are fun. The head sculpts are literally flawless and amazing (maybe Hook's cheekbones are a tad too prominent.) And I appreciate the ankle tilt on all of them, as well as the extra articulation that Takara added.
One thing though, I understand why Longhaul is the way he is. But too bad that HasTak didn't use the traditional cement truck for Mixmaster. I think it would have resulted in a better robot mode, too. The drum would have rested flat on his back instead of hanging off his behind like a stinger. Still, he's pretty good, too.
