If you're willing to share, how much were you able to snag Vector Sigma for?

it was this auction right here. 40 bucks, which may seem high, but to me its better than buying a second MP10 (which i planned to save for a rainy day). also i was combining shipping with the remaining MP collector coins i was missingmegatronus wrote:shajaki wrote:bought a vector sigma seperately off ebay and got it last night. its pretty nice, but that diecast key is soooooo satisfying. id buy a dozen if i could. all it lacks is a stand. but the only alternatives are a long retired 3P unicron.com set, and a highly overpriced botcon set. this new set is amazing!

The original Key was like 13 years ago but it was burnished metal and awesome. I had it and lost it when I moved. The Botcon set was the same key but in a yellow sparkly plastic.
Man, I wish I still had my old Key's for comparison!

Image plus release dates and pricing follow below! Red Alert and Sideswipe are both scheduled for February 2015 at 5800 Yen each, MP-11 Starscream, the retooled version with coronation gear, will follow in March for 13,800 Yen, and MP-10 will hit (again) in April for 22,000 Yen. It's impossible to know exactly where the exchange rate will be in 2015, but putting a decimal point after the first two zeroes should give you a ballpark idea.
Is this still in effect? Weren't things like Red Alert already reissued?

What a price point!
I assume we can attribute that to the declining Yen?

But is it really that much better than the Hasbro release. And if so in what way aside from the cooler box and instructions?

It depends on what you want... some people really like the darker shades on the Takara version over the lighter ones on Hasbro's. Also, the joints on my Takara MP10 are much tighter and sturdier than on Hasbro's original MP10 (although the Hasbro Asia reissue might be tighter).
We also don't have all the details yet, but the previous reissue came with a cool stand. I imagine this reissue will come with some accessory to incentivize current owners of the mold (like myself) to double or triple dip on this reissue as well. Maybe that will be Vector Sigma again, maybe something else. Time will tell.
Actually, I think a Vector Sigma matched to the more copper tones of Takara's MP10 would be awesome.

Thanks! I also noticed rolelr is very different. However, for me, it is the eye color that makes all the difference (and why I preffer the Hasbro version)

The dead eyes are a perennial complaint, but I like the darker colors on Takara's much better. I ended up swapping out the original eyes with YOTH eyes. Now he's perfect.

im actually really happy with this reissue. i wasnt previously an MP completist, maybe just a 90%'er. and the MP10 era was odd for me cause i wasnt that heavily back into TF's yet and i kinda shrugged him off because i had MP01. by the time hasbros MP10 came out i was well into the thick of the hobby again, and currently im an MP completist. which means a little backtracking on my part. so im quite relieved i dont have to pay the 300 plus secondary market asking price that takaras MP10 currently goes for.
AND, whatever bonus they throw in will just be the cherry on top

Oughta drive the scalper prices down, too. The other day I saw someone asking for Hasbro Soundwave AND another MP as a trade for Hasbro MP-10 and that did not seem reasonable to me. Having this release will at least give a fair chance to those not willing to put up with those sorts f deals.

Same, i think it's too expensive for the size, it's only voyager-leader class sized.
