If you're like me, and you're not really interested in TF: Animated or Classics/Universe and you want to just skip 2008 entirely - if you're counting the days until the next live-action Transformers Movie, and you want to know when the good stuff will come out, then I have just the thing for you!

I've went back and dug deep in the news stories of the past two years and compiled a timeline of the leaks and stories leading up to the first Transformers movie. This can give us a *vague* idea on when we can expect some juicy info on the film's sequel. Of course, there are no guarantees, and security will no doubt be higher this time around - but still, it's fun to take a glimpse at the past and relive the bumpy ride to the first film!

One thing is probably for sure, once they start filming - photos from the set will leak, it happens to every movie, so the alt modes of some characters might be difficult to hide, and if you look at the timeline, all the important leaks came after the beginning of filming.

April 2005 (27 months until film’s release): pre-visualisation starts, TF designs sent to Hasbro

May 2005 (26 months until film’s release): Michael Bay officially signs on as Director

April 2006 (15 months until film’s release): Reporters get first behind the scenes look at movie designs. Nothing is shown, but the cast of characters begins to flesh out.

May 2006 (14 months until film’s release): first reviews of Transformers movie script, character cast (more or less) revealed.

May 2006 (14 months until film’s release): First photos from set showcasing the movie TFs alt modes: Bumblebee, Brawl/Devastator, Barricade and Bonecrusher are shown.

June 1st 2006 (13 months until film’s release): shooting officially begins (on the exact same date as Transformers II is currently scheduled to begin shooting…)

June 2006 (13 months until film’s release): very first look at the design aesthetic for the movie TFs, leaked photo of giant Bumblebee model from the set.

July 2006 (12 months until film’s release): first "annoucement" trailer premieres before Pirates of the Caribbean II

August 2006 (11 months until film’s release): First renders of Optimus Prime parts leak online.

August 2006 (11 months until film’s release): writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman OFFICIALLY reveal the entire cast of characters for the TF movie.

August 2006 (11 months until film’s release): First look at early toy prototypes (Blackout and Starscream), and first clear glimpse of the TF robot mode design sheets.

August 2006 (11 months until film’s release): First look at Megatron's jet and robot mode. Much complaining ensues, and still does.

September 2006 (10 months until film’s release): First full-body image of Bumblebee, photo taken from filming on Hoover Dam, leak online.

September 2006 (10 months until film’s release): Photos from the set keep on coming, we get our first look at Jazz’s alt mode as filming of the climactic downtown battle sequence is underway in LA.

September 24th 2006 (10 months until film’s release): Last day of shooting.

November 2006 (8 months until film’s release): first look at prototypes for other movie toys: Bumblebee, Jazz, Scorponok, Brawl, etc…

February 2007 (5 months until film’s release): the last of the previously un-seen TF designs are leaked. That’s it, that’s all - we’ve seen all the designs.

February 2007 (5 months until film’s release): 20 minutes of the film are shown as a sneak peek
