Easy buy if the arms where more proportional.

Colour me curious as well, in a purely academic sort of way.

Well, as much as I hate to be that guy who posts partisan "This competing third party product is better!" comments, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that Before and After has their option for people who don't like ridiculously oversized arms...

B and A? Again, Nice main character design. Still wondering why the Pop Eye arms. The other company too has an equally appealing design. As I mentioned, if it wasn't for the arms, it will be the price that would be the pitch hitter.
Edit:
B and A. Got it, what a funny name indeed. If it's price is more.......palatable, I might lean more to them.

Well, I don't want to go into too much detail in the Gear of War thread, but the short version is that the Before and After one has (in my opinion) much better proportions, also comes with a Slammer!, and if price might be the deciding factor, it is slightly less expensive then the TFC version.
More info can be found in its own thread. Or, for more comparative discussion, there's always my Metroplex Accessories Catch-All Thread.

I don't like him that much as a bot but I like him better as guns than B&A.

I know the community on this site is almost universally against him, but, I've been playing with this guy for a couple of days now, and I have to say, he is superb! After seeing that video review of Six Sigma a while back I changed my mind and am really glad I did. The playability and versatility of this is simply amazing. I have no idea if TFC planned it, or are the luckiest bastards on the planet, but every part of this thing has somewhere to go on every mode of Metroplex. He completely replaces all of Metroplex's original guns.

And to make him a Sixgun made up of six guns all you have to do is add Scamper's weapon.

I know many don't like the forearms, but I have to say (I really, really hate to say it), he doesn't look as bad in person. He's a bruiser; he just looks like he wants to punch you in the face!

They all look good together.

I was worried that the main weapon wouldn't be able to attach to his shoulder, but thanks to the size of his forearms it is possible. The hands can also be hidden nicely.

In city mode the main weapon can be used as a tower much like B&A's while also making use of the missile launcher. The forearms also make nice additions so Metroplex can have repair bays. The only reason I'm still using the original shoulder cannons is that they make great towers in city mode.

Battlestation mode speaks for itself.

The jet mode doesn't feel like an afterthought so much as making the most out of what they had to give him some kind of alt mode.

The only major complaint I have is that my new Slammer has nowhere to go on Metroplex when he is in robot mode. As for minor complaints; he could use better heels, the hips (as tight as they already are) could be a little bit tighter and some of the posts could be a little longer.

Thanks for the review! He doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought he would. He still doesn't look good enough to get me to change my mind, but I am certainly not as critical of him.

Agreed, great review!
Didn't change my mind, and it is still the issue with the Popeye arms that kills this for me, but less critical is a great way to word it.

Yeah, count me in. It does look good, and great pics... but still gonna pass on him.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Re: TFC-009 Gear of War 3 (Sixgun)
I just picked one up. The major selling point for me were those Popeye/bruiser arms and articulated hands. I love the look and whacky proportions. It's an original look i really haven't seen before in a TF and i had to have it. Plus i like how much more articulated he is than B&A.
I'm stoked with the decision. Can't wait to get him.

And you know it must be a fundamental Truth if Rated X and I agree on something!

I kid, of course. For those that do like this, more power to you! You know, those stupid arms aside, it does look like a good set. But between the stupid arms on this one and the fact that the alternative will come with a good Slammer, as well, I still patiently and eagerly await the Before and After version.
(Man, the talk of "Popeye" arms always makes me want chicken...)

I'd say, "Good for you!"
necr0blivion wrote:(and the biscuits too)
Oh yes, their biscuits are tasty!
Last time my girlfriend and I got Popeye's, we'd gotten it to go and my girlfriend discovered that they'd accidentally left out her biscuit! You know it is true love, because I actually willingly offered up half of mine. Anyone else, I'd be like, "Oh man, that sucks. Nom nom nom nom nom!"
I also quite love their sweet tea. So much that I taught myself to make a pretty close facsimile of it at home. Which reminds me, I need to brew a gallon later today.
(And no, Rated X, you can't use that as fodder against me next time we get into a "polite discussion" about knock-offs!
