No across the board. They can change the heads and chest armour, but I'd never accept these as Protectobots.

Why does the ambulance have wings? Or is it the car? Either way it doesn't work.

It's a Chinese rescue-force for a Chinese Anime called StarCats. There were hopes that it would be close enough to repaint and be a pseudo-Defensor, but it's just not right for the role.

Maybe with the new heads and the chest pieces attached it will look better, but this just isn't doing it for me. I want someone to give Defensor the full attention he deserves.

This thing is kinda neat, but definitely doesn't work for me as Defensor.

Same here too. Funny that I never cared about G1 Defensor until I restored one and finally read his appearances in the new G1 comic collections. Now I'd really like one. Really hoping once FansProject releases their upcoming Menasor that they'll be working on this. I think Maketoys could probably do this team justice too.

I think TFC would do a great job if Defensor is what they were actually trying to make. This is nothing more than a repurposed repaint (something Has/Tak knows a LOT about

).

I'm hopeful that eventually TFC will do one of every single G1 combiner.

Unless Uranus completely floors me, I'm done with TFC combiners. That or they become worlds cheaper and quality improves by leaps and bounds. I have Hercules and really he's just okay. He's not worth $450-$600 to me. Not even close. It simply doesn't feel justified in his cost. I'd much rather have the proven groups get stuff to market. I'm no cheapskate but third party stuff is drowning me in the last year or more. There has to be a line drawn eventually for me.

Back to topic, I never was really interested in this. Even less so after seeing what their dinosaur combiner was going to end up looking like. Not bad stuff. Just not what I'm looking for either.

I'm the other Way around. I've decided that I'll go TFC for all my G1 gestalts for as long as they keep making them. I even cancelled my MakeToys Devastator in favour of them

Agreed. I'm in no way interested in the StarCats combiner anymore. The Dino Combiner may sort of work as a DinoKing for me, but I'll need to see the final thing first.

This is the first 3rd party product that actually deserves the word "not" to be used in it's title because it is clearly not Defensor. Im not interested in it. But I bet if it was a Hasbro mold, people would be calling it "neo" Defensor and all that G1 love would fly out the window.

As nice as some of those individual bot modes are, (that first one with the wings is glorious) I'm not getting a huge defensor feel from this. Maybe its too early too call it without seeing the retools but im passing on this.

That was a slightly different case as both were announced and developed almost simultaneously. I will probably hold off in hopes of a more G1ish Defensor figure that will be in scale with all of FansProjects/Maketoys combiners.

Plus, the Protectobots are my least favorite combiner from Seasons 1-2. They just sorta ... appeared. And hardly ever combined.
