A better question would be how much you'd be willing to spend on such figures. If you want my opinion, I normally I pay 1.5 to 2x retail max for an older sealed figure. Anything below current retail price: take it :P
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I noticed a day or so ago the games of deception set sold for over $1000 on ebay.. does anyone think its REALLY worth that much seeing as Henkei is floating around now?

I don't, but the Henkei version of Thundercracker (and Skywarp) has the issue of his missile launcher not fitting firmly in the sockets, so I can understand people avoiding that release. Thrust and Dirge have no such problems oddly enough. The bulk of that price is still Dreadwind and Bug Bite anyway, but it's still way too much for my liking.

Weapon: Sword
Here's the bad news for you. The vendors know what their stuff is worth and which items are in demand. They will be asking current market value or more. They know you are there to shop.

Search ebay's completed listings for the figures you want. Base your budget on the average sold price. If you see it at Botcon for less, snag it.

I find eBay auctions and Botcon prices tend to be about even, especially for the in-demand stuff.

So this Botcon 2007 set sold for a $1000 on ebay the other day. Now BBTS has one in stock for nearly $1,300.

Makes me wonder if those sets are the same.
