Because of this crap, we probably won't ever get an official slipstream any better than this. Hopefully a 3rd party company pulls it off.
Hasbro/Takara should have a fembot toyline where its just a bunch of female robots who still transform. Not only might it help with the female market, but it would round out our collections
Without this supposed crap, we wouldn't get it AT ALL. The only reason TFCC gets to run Scourge and Slipstream is because Hasbro has said they won't touch it. This IS the offical release, without this, there wold be none.
Agreed on the second part though.

I wouldn't necessarily say that wouldn't get it at all or that this is the official release. It just means that Hasbro has no current plans for the character. There are lots of characters that funpub put out as club or BotCon exclusives that Hasbro years down the line decided to do officially.
There were a lot of people who thought the same thing back in 2007 when Funpub put Thundercracker, Dirge and Ramjet in the Games of Deception set.

I agree. It's feminine enough (to me) that putting along side the other, Blockier Deluxe Seekers works.
And maybe I'm the only one but wouldn't an original G2 Ramjet work as a G1 Slipstream? Provided that she ever makes an appearance in G1 storylines/canon. He has teal and purple coloring, so no repainting would be necessary. Except maybe for some robo-lipstick

Honestly, there's a great deal of similarity between WFC Slipstream (where the asthetics were more in line with Classics than TF: Prime) and this figure. It could probably fit in either line pretty well

Careful with statements like that, because then this must be the same character as this, this be the same as this, or (and this is my personal favourite), this is this.
Now before you go all "know-it-all" on me, please be aware that I'm being pedantic for the fun of it. Yes I know that, aside from Arcee (who certainly didn't match TF: Prime's Arcee in any of the show's flashbacks), they're pretty much the same characterization and artistic direction varied wildly between High Moon's games and TF: Prime.
I'm only pointing out that TFSS Slipstream's scheme matched the proposed WFC's character, and that the WFC art style meshed more with Classics than Prime. But then again Slipstream is obviously a Prime mold, and thus could very easily fit in with the TF: Prime line too.
I'm all for saying we're both right. She may be, as you put it "meant for Prime" but I believe she'll work pretty well in Classics too.

For me I see it as a classics figure. There is no Slipstream in TF Prime. She is from the Animated continuity. Didnt know she was in WFC/FOC since Im not into video games. I think Funpub is known for repainting molds from other continuities into classics figures.
Examples:
R.I.D. Skybyte from Energon Sharkticon
G1 Circuit from ROTF Lockdown
G1 Spinister from HFTD Tomohawk
Classics Nightbeat from Energon Hot Shot
I dont see anybody sticking these figures on their Energon or Bayverse shelves, they are using them as stand ins for their classic collection. So I just cant see why people insist this figure was meant for the TF Prime line knowing Funpub's general history. Why would someone want a TF Prime Slipstream, when there is no TF Prime Thundercracker, Thrust, Dirge, or Ramjet ? I think Funpub listened to all the rants about how feminine the Prime SS mold looked, so they used it as a female seeker variant instead of giving us the same old classics seeker mold. If we only used "classics" molds for a classics collection, it would have no variety. It would be a shelf of repaints.

But until there's some supporting fiction or a bio that fits her into a specific universe, there *could* be a Prime Slipstream, like one of the several non-show characters released so far. I get what you're saying in regards to Funpub's general history, however they have done Animated releases (Cheetor) which are officially part of the Animated Universe. I'm guessing Jackpot will be as well, since the Animated aesthetic doesn't really fit anywhere else.
So there's really no reason Slipstream couldn't be a Prime release, but it does fit fairly well with Classics as well, so it depends on what TFCC decides to release it as, and where you decide to display it. I personally like to put my figures with whatever line they look best with, and that tends to be the line where the mold was first introduced. Hence, if I were to buy TFCC Slipstream, I'd probably display her with my Prime figures, regardless of the official word on where she belongs.

Point.
I'd forgotten about the Seeker fiasco that erupted on the boards. I was going on something I thought came after from FunPub that they explained how the fugures come about, and Hasbro having to ya or ney the designs based on what they plan to sell.
Though, by then, we may have a better/different mold for slippy, and the goodnews is that she isn't a PRID

Wow, that's a great idea!
WFC Arcee is a must by the way. I hope that she will be in FOC as DLC soon. Or else I'll die a little inside.
There needs to be a percentage of fembots, only for the more sleek designs and female voices in the series

There is a lot of generalizing here. "You guys" might be innacurate since I never called Starscream too feminine. Feminine, sure, but not something I had a problenm with. The same people who have a problem with Slipstream's lack of femininity might not be the same people who complained about Starscreams'. Since I decided to comment again, I'm not complaining about Slipstream just because I think all fembots should be typical girly looking bodies. I'm fine with Strika, Airrazor, and even Override. The first time I saw slipstream was in WFC and she was curvy. She seemed to have first appeared in animated, where she was still fairly girly in her looks. I'm just saying, do the curvy sexy fembot justice. That's all. (If it helps, maybe comparing this to wanting a classics Tracks that actually turns into a corvette-looking vehicle). Anyway, beating a dead horse, so whatever. I'll just hope for a day when we get a better version that isn't just a repaint.

This was my thought exactly upon reading this thread. Granted, the people complaining now that Slipstream is not feminine enough may not be the same people who, a few months back, were belittling the Starscream design for being feminine, but it certainly goes to show the very fickle nature of our beloved fandom. No wonder Hasbro and Funpub have such a difficult time pleasing us.
Hasbro: Here's Starscream!
Fandom: Too feminine!
FunPub: Remember that mold y'all thought was too feminine? Here it is as a fembot!
Fandom: Too manly!
For a very very very very brief miniscule moment, I felt a twinge of sympathy for HasTak and FunPub...
Nevermind, it's gone
Personally, I really liked the idea of this mold as Slipstream from the moment it was revealed at Botcon. It's actually the Subscription Figure about which I'm most excited. Granted, it's not perfect, but no mold is, especially when we're dealing with repaints of mass-release molds. And given FunPub's history, it could have been FAR worse. Besides, can anyone name an existing mold that would have been a better Slipstream? For FunPub, it's a matter of doing what they can with what they've got.
