That much for Darksyde Megs and Waspinator?!?!?!?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

Good Sir,

As you can see, this is a close knit circle of douchebaggery. There are only 4-5 hundred spots on the team depending on the destructive tendencies of Japanese children. Should you decide to pursue this course of acquisition, you should know that tales of harrowing adventures to attain said figure are also required.

For instance, I personally fought off a pack of wild dogs while scooping lava from an active volcano in Japan in order to balance a peculiar set of scales located in the only Scientologist "Church" in Communist China where my particular Noisemaze Production Type was kept.

Now, I know very well that, none, of that is true.

But I believe it.

and so did the Police.

That's pretty nice.

That's a great photoshop.

Seriously, the possibility of 3 of those ever being in one place at a time? Inconcevable!

Kind of related... are there MISB Games of Deceptions still going around for $900-1000? Wondering if I should just not bother and go get the Gentei seekers and loose Dreadwind I need. (:|

Real Talk: The prices of the BotCon toys from the past 5 years are disgusting. Seriously. All joking about exclusives and that aside, I really dislike how their rise in value makes them completely inaccessible to most collectors. I say that realizing that they could have bought in at the time the sets were announced/released. Still...

I get the feeling that it's because the themes and character choices are suited more to what people actually want as opposed to all the previous years of some pretty ho hum blargity. Sure they aren't ALL primo awesome sauce but for the most part they're winners. As for me not buying in with Shattered Glass, I accept half the blame there. Half because despite having sold out by the time I registered I still could have snagged the souvenirs and tried a bit harder at the con to get them. I just didn't care then. Feeling the way I do now about the theme, I kick myself. If my wallet were an actual animate being, it would kick me too. Much harder. I agree though, the after market is pretty disgusting. I started off with the 2006 con and set and it baffles me how crazy they got from there on. I'm still without Buzzsaw and Laserbeak. I just recently decided I'd like those too. Guess what? I'm boned. At least I'm down to those and SG Rodimus! (which I may actually have a line on)

::EDIT:: I'm freaking tired, hope this makes sense.

No, but I AM missing 2005s set. Not that I lose sleep over it or anything but there were some pretty cool ones there. Namely Deathsaurus, or whatever the kids are calling him these days.

Are you serious? Ok, what's the deal with the bump up in these Con sets/figs? I know that some are rare, but not THAT rare!

I guess that the movies brought TF's back into the public eye and I can only assume that the mark up comes from the newbie? :? So are the new folks driving up the market?

Looks that way...not sure, but it's obnoxious. I'm fairly new to high priced figures, and I'm sure I'll get everything eventually, but it's really pissing me off.

Okay, for that amount I think I'd rather fly to Hong Kong, have me a good lunch and get that MISB Grand Maximus/Overlord/Liokaiser instead. Literally. :?
