They are about as useful as G1 characters having teeth huh?
As if thats relevant to his supposed "new and more realistic" aesthetic. But I forgot we were discussing G1 design. As the new and improved Prime would say, my bad.
Its quite relevent, actually, because its a double standard otherwise.
Everyone bitches about new megatron having teeth, but what stupid people like to forget is that G1 TF's, and anything since until the movie, had human-like teeth too. So why isnt anyone constantly whining like a baby about that?

So so true! There is so much wrong with G1 that people willfully overlook. I think they forgot just how cheesy it was and how bad season 3 and 4 were.

Ok we got it, hes supposed to be evil. You dont have to hit us over the head in such a ham fisted way.

It's a movie about giant robots from outer space that turn themselves into vehicles and fight over a mystical life-creating object.....and THIS is your problem with it?

But just for the sake of argument, say Megatron gave himself the teeth to try and look menacing? Would that work for you?

Tekka wrote:I won't join in the senseless mocking but as far as Megatron's teeth go, the best way to explain it would be to consider that on his way to Earth; Megatron may have encountered other organic humanoid races.
Taking a page from our own psychology; something that scares us more than guns, lasers, and bombs are sharp demonic teeth. If Megatron had learned this in his dealings with other organics, he could have integrated that into his design to instill further fear in them by his very presence. As if being a massive robot wasn't enough though.

I think he crash-landed. Not a millisecond of chance to encounter any lifeform.
That's my understanding of his crash-landing. I don't know how the prequel comics portray it.

I certainly didn't get the impression that he stopped off at any planets between Cybertron and Earth, however it's possible that he encountered organic life prior to leaving Cybertron, I suppose.

It would make sense to me if he had been hunting for the Allspark across several different planets, if he had known exactly where the Allspark had been he could have told some of his loyal Decepticons where he was going. That way it wouldn't have taken them so long to find him after he was lost. Of course there is no way to prove that, and as usual I doubt the thought was considered at all by the writers or the designers, it's all pure speculation on my part.
Auto Bot wrote:I saw part of the prequel. He did "crash-land" standing on his feet. Weird. Anyway, in a matter of seconds, the ice under his feet melted, and he was doomed.
Yup. No chance to encounter any toothy creatures.

I wouldn't expect him to find anything in that environment. =x I was talking about alien planets.
