Seriously, no amount of bolding will ever truly express how much I WTF when I saw this!

I walked passed a petrol station and what do I see? A guy pumping petrol. OKay, so that's usual, except for the fact that in his hand, the same hand holding the petrol nozel was a cigarette. A lit cigarette.

And as if his parental relationship status wasn't being questioned enough, ie. were his parents siblings, I watched him take the nozel out of the car and to take a drag of the smoke.

At that point I crossed the road and hoped like hell I would be on the outskirts of any resulting explosion.

its scientificly proven that the oxygen to flame to fuel ratio it to small to actually cause a fire or explosion, there are some instances where it has happened but its very unlikely and you have a better chance of catching your hair on fire during a commercial ad(micheal jackson)

but it is still a stupid thing to do

Yeah, if you saw the Mythbusters pilot, they had a devil of a time getting a plexiglass cube full of fumes to ignite.

That said, this bloke was incredibly stupid, even more incredibly lucky and, had he been in the States, was breaking the law (I'd imagine it's illegal in the UK also, but you'd have to confirm).
