Winging his way from Japan as we speak... I can't wait to get him, but I have some other goodies coming along in the meantime: TrU MP Optimus Prime and MP-16 tapes should arive any day now.

I opted for the cheaper shipment that will take a little longer; waited this long a few extra weeks aint going to kill me.

Supposedly there will be an interesting surprise reveal for the next encore release packed with him; heresay for now, but would be awesome if it lives up to expectations!

I am trying to not overthink when he will arrive, but I can't wait! I have never owned any version of this mold before. I did come close to getting a Brave Max 4 times last year but always got ebay sniped or had somethimg fall through at the last minute every time,

I had a close call on an auction once, but then decided the proce was still insane. I can't wait to unpack that thing.

Mine just arrived from Kapow too.

Did you pay the extra for the early air shipment?
Was just wondering as I took the slow cheap option, but this was one of the double-taped first runs.

I took the regular one too, but have got the "double" taped box. I know Andy is short of storage space in his warehouse and just shipped them out ant which way!

Mine arrived Thursday from Robot Kingdom. No double-taping present, but it was missing a small foam insert, which is one of the QA issues they were checking for. Didn't bother me, he wasn't damaged in any way from his parts floating more freely.

Metroplex is tall, but skinny: Metroplex is a big hulk of plastic. There's a significant reason Metroplex WILL be able to be sold in the US, while Fortress Max (/ Brave Max) WAS NOT allowed to be sold after G1: it's because FOC Metroplex will probably be a hollow shell, weighing in at 1 to 2 kg, while FM (4,5 kg) will squash small pets and infants if it topples over.

Oh yeah, and BTW: FOC Metroplex: $125 MSRP, Encore Fortress Max: $225 (with the right online retailer). So how does that make Metroplex a third of FM's asking price??? :roll:

Anyhow, I know my Encore FM left Japan today, with the slow boat (SAL)

The good thing about SAL (apart from being the cheaper shipping method), you ask? Well, it usually attracts slightly less attention from customs. Even if I would have had him shipped by EMS in 3 days, it would most certainly have spent the next 2 weeks in damn customs anyhow, negating all benefits from express shipping.
