I've gotten quite a few Mini-Con packs over the past few years. Not all by any means, but a few, and I think it's time I proposed what I dub "The Mini-Con Pattern", since I got the Clear Skies Team tonight on clearance. Yes, they are quite...disapointing, but they still conform to my proposed theory.
The theory is simple: in each Mini-con Three pack you almost always get a Mini-con with a pretty good alt. mode, but poor robot mode. You then get a strictly average Mini-con with average both modes. Finally, the third Mini-con you get is arguably the best of the lot, and is actually quite unique and impressive, dare I say innovative. So, my example, using The Clear Skies Team, Land Military Team, and Eneron Perceptor(I have others, but I'll keep it simple):
Poor robot, good alt: Nightscream, Wreckage, and Sureshock
Average overall: Thunderwing, Rollout, and Grindor
Best, and Innovative: Steel Wind, Bonecrusher, and Highwire(posable!)
I know it's a bit odd, but does anyone else agree with my theory? Disagree?
The Mini-Con Pattern Theory

Well I've got Dirt Digger team and Predator Team.
In the Predators, the bird is great, the wolf is average and the tiger has very poor robot mode.
In the dirt diggers, all three have good alt modes, the bike has a fairly poor robot mode, the car is average and the truck has an innovative robot mode that is quite good.

And thus the pattern seems valid so far.
I guess I should have said that they can all have good alt modes(and tend too), but the poor robot mode is what seperates the poor one from the average Mini-con. An exception to the rule would be Energon Highwire, as his alt. mode is not as good as his robot mode, but the posable robot mode is what makes him stand out to me.

hmmmmm,
I think the bird is the WORST, what saves him is the
material of the plastic they chose is nice and kind of
soft which is good cause he is kinda awkward.
wolf is the best. colors, everything.
if tiger is your innovative one... not sure what to say
to that.... he is funny cause he can pee like a god, DOG!
I mean dog. he ends up being OK.
dirt digger,
bike is cool alt mode, crappy bot mode. arms are REAL bad,
legs are forgiveable. face is ok.
monster truck is ummmm well, ok in alt mode
I do not care for the bot mode. he is average in a
unattractive way.
oil slick is the best of this team.
switchblade for his right hand, claw for his left.
face looks like cyclops.
so anyway no your formula is inconsistant.

Hmm, personal choice is certainly a vairable, as everyone has different tastes. However, your interpretation of the Dirt Digger team is consistent with my theory, and if the wolf of the other team you consider to be the best(not necessrily innovative though I guess), then it's consistnt. so therefore....
The theory could be considered valid

Makes sense to me. But then again none of the Classic Destruction team has good robot modes.

"Consider the knowledge dropped."
From ToplessRobot.com:• "Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is marginally better than sh***ing your pants, but it takes a lot longer." Very well put.

i think that ur theory is how people always react to 3 of anything!!!!!
They will love one, loath anther and the final one falls in between the two-Hasbro wouldnt really package a ty they know is substandard as part of a set would they?
(also the fact that some people agree with ur theory, but cant agree on which toy is which kinda promotes my alternate theory)

I think you might be on to something. However Minicons can be hit or miss all together in some instances.
