On it. I'm busy for a while & any serious drawing time will be on the comic but I'll try & sort out something with good detail.

so far with my 3d modeling, i have made (slightly simplified versions) Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream. i havent started on BW characters because they are a little more complicated. i should start soon...

Ah, yes, sorry, I had forgotten, haven't had any time anyway really. I'll get to work on the Silverbolt stuff this weekend if I can. I've screwed up most of my Saturday by getting a job interview midday so hopefully this divide in the day will give me either the morning or the afternoon to draw. I can try & catch up with my to-do list.

i have a few things to say about the desighns
1; blackarchnia, YAY, FINGERS!
2; Silverbolt, his mask looks a bit... dodgy. could you have something a little less... creapy.
3; rattrap; no wheal, goooooooooood.
4; poor cheetor, he hasn't got any attention
5;waspinator? why would you want him?
6; i see magmatron is being kept a secret

been monitoring this thread for a while now, and being the huge BW fan that i am, i'd like to say KEEP IT UP GUYS! i eagerly anticipate more updates to this undertaking.

Right, sorry this is still in Fireworks edit (meaning large file size) form but I haven't finished it or really neatened it up at all and I really don't have the time to do much more at the moment, so I'll just give you guys a peek at a coloured Blackarachnia.

Whether this means the comic will end up coloured or not is uncertain. I'm pretty new to digital colouring but if I find it relatively easy I'll give it a go for a page or two & see how it goes. Hope you guys like the colours.

Oh, I have the designs for 'Bolt & Cheetor all but finished so I'll get back to drawing the first pages right away! Well, some time soon.

And a very very quick Digipaint of Silverbolt, Not too sure on the shade of yellow but I'll work on it.
No shading yet, again I'll finish it off some time.

Blackarchnia's colours look GOOD! but Silverbolt's colours... im not too sure about that.

Yea, I know what you mean, but I put it down to it being the very basic, base colours for him. When there's some more toning, shading & detail the colour scheme will work, I promise you. I'll update it when I've had a chance to do some more work for it.

Aw hell yea! I'm moving up in the world!

Working on a new 'bolt picture, I've got sketch & inking done. I'm scanning him in later & colouring whenever I have a chance. Hope you guys will like him, it is with his battle mask back. I've finally settled on a design

I quite like this head, it appears to be an evolution from the BM head while still retaining aspects from the BW head. I like the combination. He also looks older & wiser, he actually reminds me of Dinobot. Dinobot had to deal with becoming a Maximal after "growing up" a Predacon, & Silverbolt's recent past was as the Vehicon Jetstorm. He had the whole "Emotional, getting to grips with his evil deeds" thing in BM, & I am in no means bringing that back, but I'm not going to let him forget it. He has learned from his past experiences on the other side, & has become quite troubled because of that; in that respect he is like Dinobot.
So I thought it would be a good idea to try & get some of the emotion Dinobot conveyed in his facial expressions to work on Silverbolt; this was the result.
I've very much moved away from the pupils idea BM had, making them more human, which just didn't work, & have gone back to the "lead-piping" eyes shown in just about every other series.
I do have my reasons for choosing the colours I have chosen, & all will be revealed when I show you some Beast mode pictures. I am trying to make the yellow darker so it doesn't look so clashing. I am also still working on the silver for his sword.
I also hope you like the little detail I've added behind his neck. If you look carefully you will hopefully make out parts of the battle mask, which is designed to break apart & collapse into the back & neck.
Anyway, hope you like. I'll probably do some more work tomorrow.

I'm loving the design...but the colors just don't say "Silverbolt" to me...it seems...off. This is your project, however, so keep up the good work.

Please, please do not take this reply as rude either of you, I am saying this in a light tone of voice smiling, just trying to explain my choice of colours so maybe people will understand why I chose them.

But when Blackarachnia upgraded to TM2, and was suddenly pink, black & purple I didn't really think it suited her, but I grew to like it. As I did with Beast Machines Silverbolt's purple, or with Megatrons sudden increase in gold when he turned TM. It made him look like Huggy Bear! Hehe, anyway what I'm saying is Silverbolt's colours have never been set, because he's only had one form. With Cheetor, who has had 4 (correct me if I am wrong) forms his colours sorta have to be yellow otherwise it'd cause confusion. However, for Silverbolt who in BW only ever had one form it's a bit different. His colours were silver & grey, the typical colours for a wolf, however it didn't suit his non-fuzor form shown in BM, hence the drastic colour change. You don't get many entirely grey birds so unless he was maybe made a seagull it just wouldn't work, besides, it's just dull. Now I've taken the "WTF" colours of BM & added green to tone it down & make it less "WTF.
So if you consider that BM Silverbolt was Purple, then these colours aren't too much of a deviation from his normal colours, as that was his most recent form before this new comic.

Hehe, the eagle head placement was based of BW organic Silverbolt, I took a lot from him actually. The transformation process is quite similar, in fact if I remember correctly most of his design comes from a mix of fuzor 'bolt, organic Silverbolt & transtech 'bolt. One of the transtech designs also gave him a crotch-beast head/cockpit (oh bad choice of words!). I think when I've drawn it a few more times I will get the hang of it & not make it look so .... yea....
Well you may feel free to complain ^^ I don't mind, I like the criticisms, It makes me either have to justify my choices or re-do the work! And doing these makes future work better.

What would you prefer? A pigeon?
But in seriousness, I just aimed for a general bird of prey, it just so happens an Eagle is the easiest to draw. And as shown in Beast Machines, he is no longer a Wolf, nor a Fuzor.

I love the position of the Eagle Head.

Unfortunately the positioning of the Eagle head does lend itself to two very easy puns.

Fortunately, such language is discouraged on these boards, so I shall keep them to myself.

Edit: Might help to raise and enlarge the head abit - basically, make the top of the head Silverbolt's belly, with the beak forming a sort of... well, cup, between his leg joints. Right now the way it's sort of sticking out is... obtrusive.

The colors look very good, especially BA. Can't wait to see the others, if you're going to do them.

Silverbolts colors or different, but I like them.
