Before I went to bed I was ranked in the thousand's and I got attacked (and took a pretty good beating) from a guy in the hundreds.

Now I get out of bed and suddenly he's in the thousands and i'm in the hundreds. The fudge?

Nevermind, it just went back to how it was ... weird. Starting to not like this game much.

I think it is the same as HMW - by your points.

But since Uni37 is so new, everyone's point values are very low, so our rankings change dramatically with things as minor as being slowed down by a successful enemy raid.

U:20 is older, so you have an easy start with n00b protection, but may have difficulty expanding with higher-level players all around you.

U:37 is new, but is a frenzy with little protection. If you survive, you should be able to carve out an empire from the corpses of the foolish.

btw: if I get in U:37 now, will there still be low-level players in a week? I've cut my teeth in U:20 and am ready for the feeding frenzy, but am I still in time?

Hiya all, in the wait for HWM to pick back up I took your advice and am now trying out Ogame. I'm in u37 and just sent an application to join SEIB. Name is Benko on there...

So far I'm just building up my planet a bit, I freaked out when someone sent a fleet at me from about 5 hours away and built a bunch of rocket launchers (10)...turns out it was just a small cargo ship and I blew it to pieces. I'm currently rounding out my defense with 10 light lasers and once they are done I think I'll continue to up my mining facilities and do some research to build up my fleet.

As I understand it, you get one point for every 1000 (or ten thousand, not sure) units of res that you spend. Conversely you lose a point for losing the same figure of res in fleet action (be it from an attacking fleet, or if your attacking fleet gets slaughtered.)

(i) = far...errr inactive.
(v) = vacation
(n) = Whine...errr new

What the hell does (s) stand for?
Because my particular galaxy just had all of us marked with it.

It means they are stronger than you.
If you go to the galaxy page and click legend at the bottom it will show you what they mean

S means a strong player; the heavy hitters. Go to the galaxy screen, scroll to the bottom, and put your curser over the word "Legend". It tells you what all the letters stand for.

Oh s***. I've seen battle reports on the board... Some attackers have 100 LFs and 20 HFs, another has 50 HFs, the third has tens of Cruisers... Oh-oh... :shock:

They'll be the ones who have bought Dark Matter and have played in other universes before.

Not much we can do about them really other then hope we stay under the radar until we're strong enough to compete.

Don't worry, they can't toutch you. As long you see them with an S, they'll see you with a n. As such, you have n00b protection; they can't attack you.

Can we actively recruit in the game or should we be somewhat selective? I've got a planetary neighbor who's unaffiliated at the moment ( I have no idea where the closest SEIB member resides..) and I might feel more comfortable with an alliancemember on the other side of the fence.

Too late. My neighbour has found me (and once again Whiney in his ignorance believes i'm a stinking n00b which i'm not) and decided i'm his personal farm. I went to bed with my fleet out, my fleet came back (not that it was much of a fleet) and while I fought the prat and his cruisers to a draw, I now have absoloutely no fleet whatsoever. A few small defenses and a shield dome, but that won't stop him so it'll only be a matter of time before he pummels me out of existence.

ah well. I was losing interest anyway.

If it's 6 times within 24 hours, it's bashing and you can report him. If not, give us your coords and galaxy and we can all help guard you while you build up some defense! (Then I can harvest the remains, Recyclers are my brand new friend :twisted:

nah he's subtle, he leaves me alone enough to avoid being reported but bugs me enough to slow me down.

Not sure whether to continue my push to unlock the gauss gun (as it's probably the only thing that can stop a fleet a cruisers) or rebuild some transports so I can go pick on some one weaker than myself.

Or I could just go back to playing HMW.

Seriously though, while it is a challenge it's disappointing that a game like this exists where you're actually pushed BACKWARDS. HMW, Mech-G, B.O.T.S. 2 ... while it may be difficult and slow to get ahead, you never get pushed back.

Reserch expidition tech!!!
The expedition followed some odd signals to an asteroid. In the asteroids core a small amount of Dark Matter was found. The asteroid was taken and the explorers are attempting to extract the Dark Matter.
You got Dark Matter units of 113.

hey guys...i dont play 20, but I'm in 33...been playing about 2 months now there.

and really you don't have to worry to much about getting pushed back. the key is not to leave fleet sitting on your planet when you are going to be away for a long time. To keep it from getting attacked deploy it to another planet, and send it at a speed so that it lands when you are online again. That way in case someone has phalanxed you and is sending a fleet to attack just after you land, you can recall the fleet and it will be safe.
