Ack ... it just occurred to me while watching last weekend's episode that the creatures were Bomb Burst and Submarauder. That's REALLY awesome that they used some extremely obscure Transformers characters in the big scheme of things in the new Animated series. I LOVE Animated so far. It's a great series, especially with all of the G1 nods.

So when it comes to doing galleries of the Dinobots when you get them, is it very likely that Submarauder and Bomb Burst will be making special appearances? 8)

Well, must we be so specific and precise? I mean, come on. We're talking about something from what is considered a kid's show. We don't have to be so exact in our statements.

Not really; although making a distinction between the three terms (crazy, mad, insane) to describe a character in said kid's show could be misconstrued as trying to be so specific and precise.

Also the "dictionary-based definition" reply seemed to emphasize that you were intending to be so exact in our statements.

I believe all parties evolved agreed that Meltdown, the character, is "crazy". I simply pointed out that the other terms used had the same meaning. I didn't see the point in arguing over semantics.

Okay, so the Headmaster wasn't as cool as previously thought. So I guess that means Meltdown still holds the title as the coolest human villain of the series.

G1 references: Another Daniel lookalike. I say "another" because this one has a mother who doesn't look like Carly or the Carly lookalike from the second episode. Also, Prime uses G1 Prime's Trailer in a few scenes. AND, the phrase "Total Domination" is uttered several times. This phrase was used to describe the goal of the G1 Decepticons in the G1 pilot episode's overview. AND again, the HM rode inside the HM unit like how the Nebulans from the Rebirth rode inside the heads of the G1 HMs' heads.

Beast Machines reference: This one is very minor, but someone (I think it was Fanzone) uses the word "frag" as a slang term in the scenes before Prime's G1 trailer is seen. This word was used by Rattrap during a part of Beast Machines.

Plus, their some stuff in this episode that makes no sense.
  • Fanzone is seen driving his old car again when we saw it destroyed previously. No, he is not driving Bumblebee because the sides of the car contain the orange "rust" that was seen on Fanzone's car before, and BB does not have the rust on him.
  • Sari just seemingly appears out of nowhere during the final fight. She was not with her dad earlier. She seemed to just replace the mayor for some reason.

OK, so todays episode had the same token G1 trough backs, and all. For me it wasn't a good episode, but it had it's moments.

I am wondering though, Primes trailer, if not Hasbro, does anyone think some of the other companies out there making upgrade kits are going to hook it up!?!

Slag was a common term used frequently by Rattrap in both Beast Wars and Beast Machines. You make it sound like he ONLY said it once durring Beast Machines.

I was allmost starting to not like the Headmaster till it actully transformed at the end. Would be really lame if the unit didn't have it's own robot mode.

Never realized that in order to take controll over the Autobot's body that he'd actully remove their head. I guess from that commercial we can now assume Headmaster will eventually be taking over Sentinal Prime.

Because he did. He said "Frag" in the third-to-last episode, "Endgame Part 1: The Downward Spiral" when Botanica was dying.

Rattrap: "Oh, no. Frag this! I am busting you outta here!"

He said "Slag" several times in BW/M but "Frag" was once.

I was not really impressed by today's episode.

1.) The HeadMaster SUCKS.

2.) I'm tired of Bulkhead being portrayed as a moron.

3.) I'm tired of this Prime's detached attitude.

The premiere movie was excellent. The next handful of episodes lived up to the special. The episodes after that have been hit or miss and quite a few misses in my book.

The original Optimus Prime (and I hate to go G1 on anyone) was more heartfelt than this one. Even the movie Prime with his impatient attitude finally warmed up towards Sam and his plight and ended up being the guy we knew and loved.

This Prime seems...bothered by Sari, still wants to be a hero and never learned his lesson, and today, when Bulkhead's body went missing..he acted like "Wow. So weird, but hey, we're working on it. I guess." Any other Prime would've said "Find him. Find the HeadMaster, we'll bring him to justice."

I just hope the writing picks up before the end of the series because I am seriously starting to become disenchanted with the whole shootin' match.

Even Prowl (Mr. I'm Aloof And Pretentious) got enough emotions to be a caring and compassionate character. I mean even Ratchet cracked under the weight of Sari's spell. Without actually saying the words, he let her know that he loved and cared for her as a friend and protector.

Prime...still a bunghole with a stick planted firmly up his backside. I'm growing tired of that at a quick pace.

And I want Bulkhead to be the character he was in the pilot. A lumbering, gentle oaf who got the job done.

And...I'd love to know why the Leader Class figure has all of those missiles and gunpods with the HeadMaster piece, but this episode doesn't show them at all. ...and I'd hope the writers wouldn't be dumb enough to go back to this idea and reuse it later. I mean being beheaded once in the series is enough...twice?

I dunno. It could be handled better, a lot better. For a while, it was starting to push Beast Wars out of the top spot for my favorite TF show...but now...no. Not a chance.

Oh and before anyone says it, yes..I know we see Sentinel without his body and Prime laughing about it (which also bothers me...) so there's a good chance that Bulkhead will lose his body again (which is stupid.

Come on CN...get those writers working, they can do better than this.

Agreed. I was exspecting more from him but he turned out to be a rip off of The Riddler (Batman Forever/Jim Carrey version) and talked like he was playing a video game ALL THE TIME. News flash Mr. Masterson, this isn't an MMO. His real name is allso really lame and uncreative. Headmaster, Mr. Masterson?

That being said, he could have been worse.

The episodes after that have been hit or miss and quite a few misses in my book.
Allso agreed. Some episodes I like, others I hate. It's about half and half though.

The original Optimus Prime (and I hate to go G1 on anyone) was more heartfelt than this one. Even the movie Prime with his impatient attitude finally warmed up towards Sam and his plight and ended up being the guy we knew and loved.

Not agreed. The only difference between this Optimus Prime and the others is that he isn't the leader, Ultra Magnus is. He is sort of the leader of this group but Ratchet has the abilty to overrule his orders if he needs to I think. Not just for medical reason but just because he's older and more exsperienced.

If anyone is a bunghole, it's Ratchet. He's still portrayed as a crabby old man no one likes.

And I want Bulkhead to be the character he was in the pilot. A lumbering, gentle oaf who got the job done.
He IS that character and allways has been. And I think he allways will be. He's not really an idiot though, just clubsy. If you watch him as Patrick on Sponge Bob Sqare Pants though it's hard not to think of him as an idiot.

I dunno. It could be handled better, a lot better. For a while, it was starting to push Beast Wars out of the top spot for my favorite TF show...but now...no. Not a chance.
It was never comming close to pushing Beast Wars out of the top spot for me. It is still fairly close under Beast Wars.

Oh and before anyone says it, yes..I know we see Sentinel without his body and Prime laughing about it (which also bothers me...) so there's a good chance that Bulkhead will lose his body again (which is stupid.

Considering how badly Ultra Magnus and Sentienal Prime treat Optimus it doesn't bother me at all that Optimus would laugh at him, he deserves it.

I seriously doubt Bulkhead will ever loose his body again. It would be preddy stupid I think to take over the same Autobot twice.

I still think a toy of the Headmaster should be made and the Animated toys should all have removable heads so the Headmaster can be attached. I mean come on, he actully does Transform and Hasbro should make a toy of him. Not sure if all the humans will have toys but that one definatly should.

I must have missread that. I was in a hurry at the time I was reading and reply to that so when I saw the name "Rattrap" and "frAG" togeather it imediatly clicked that you said "slAG", I must of only really seen the last 2 letters.

Frag wouldn't be a refrence to Rattrap though. It's a computer game term meaning how many times you've killed your opponant so Frag is a refrence to that. Even if Rattrap said it, that's where he got it from.

Headmaster was frequently speaking in computer slang in this episode, his first line was "I feel like a noob." and he allso said "Owned" and "Pwned" at some point in the episode. Like I said, he seems to think he's playing in a giant video game.

Well, this new episode was strange. Henry Masterson, Head master, continues the trend set by Nino Sexton, Nanosec, as having a hilariously easy pun name. talking like a nerd was funny at first but quickly got annoying. Seing G1 Primes trailer was cool, and fulfilling Bulkhead's toy bio about his creative side was good too. But I just hate things where people lose their bodies and suchlike. Bulkhead is my favourite Autobot, and him losing his body annoyed me. Also, Why didn't they just shoot Headmaster when he ran away? Apart from the fact that he has to return to behead Sentinel Prime. Anyway just my view on a strange episode.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Newtilator wrote:Well, this new episode was strange.

No no. Strange would've been palatable. No, this was just a baad episode.
