Huh. I didn't know that either. I must try it immediately. Nice catch.

Huh, that's probably a great use for those! Shame I don't have any.
After only one try and scared to death, I will never pull those arms off and put them back on over and over again. So I use Kreon humans' body (from other sets) for combiners since those humans are absolutely useless.

I thought I knew about this but upon looking at mine it seems I did not! I think it looks better without that shift though.

I don't really see any purpose with folding up those wheels. Maybe it's a part of the flight mode, but it just looks silly.

Since I was watching the TV show before I got the figure, I already knew they could do that, since I saw them in the show.

And that Hasbro's "Battle Mode" may actually be incorrect (and shows a possible assembly error to boot), and that TakaraTomy's not only looks different, but also is arguably the correct one as it incorporates some otherwise unused pegs and holes (and uses the assembled toy as is).
Anybody have a copy of the TakaraTomy instructions for the guy?

All very correct, and... yes apparently! Tfwiki appears to be wrong about one thing, the instructions still exist online.

As it's the only pair of wheels that fold up and they get in the way of the guns I'd say it has nothing to do with flight mode.

Only like the 3rd combination and it snapped off... The other side show heavy stress marks too.
Dammit, Onslaught broke my few year no-broken-tfs streak.
Based on my own personal childhood experience I'd be tempted to call that a G1 homage.
EDIT: Yeah, so, I just did my annual catch up on this thread, hence quoting a post from weeks ago. I'm still surprised this thread is going after I started it so many moons ago!

Well, tried the "battle mode" and truth be told, it looks more like garbled afterthought of a mess. I'll be keeping my G1-colored Mixmaster aka Ol'Lefty in robot mode.
In other RotF Constructicon news, I just found out Voyager Demolishor has "finger" joints in his shovel. Thing is, the joint is really tight and utterly useless overall. But they're there...

SICK BURN.
Although, yeah, I'm actually more shocked when TFs DON'T use the 5mm peg. It's pretty much the standard for mainline deluxes/voyagers and has been for a damn long time.

Pretty much? No, it's the straight out standard and has been for years. Bin/Alt and Alternity are the only line that don't use them, but Bin/Alt predates the idea I think.
