However, I've heard that a lot of parts need to be removed to complete the transformation. Is this true? If so, which parts require removal?
PLEASE contact me if you have any of the following, or know where I can find them:
[list]
[*]Cybertron Leader Class Optimus Prime's wings
[*]RTS Deluxe Optimus Prime's sword
[*]Cybertron Voyager Vector Prime's sword

Thank you.

I will be purchasing G1 Commerative Series Thundercracker along with another G1 transformer of my choice, and I know very well what must be removed. First, All wings (all four back wings, and the large wings), then the missile launchers, and finally the landing gear, and TADA! After you have transformed him into robot mode, you reattach these parts. Good luck!

That settles it. I'm pre-ordering the Generations Thundercracker, instead.

I got the old G1 Starscream reissue a ways back and love it to tears. I can just imagine the fun I woulda had when I was a kid with that toy. But if yer not from the 80's and can't appreaciate the aesthetic then I suppose the parts forming is a turnoff.

Because you can switch it from there, like the first guy said. You don't have to remove them. You reattach them at the end anyways, so what's the big deal?

G1 figures are literally a brick. Nearly zero articulation but one of the best source of Transformers fix you will be needing in your entire lifetime.

That's correct too. If you get a chance to buy a G1 transformer, weather it be a reissue (because it's really just a remold and slightly repainted) or original, it's going to have quality now and in the future. That's why I'm purchasing Commerative Series III Thundercracker. It was made in 2002, so next year it will be a decade old. When I'm a little older and had my fun with Transformers, I can sell these and all G1 figures I have for like, almost 100-200 dollars. :KREMZEEK:

I gotta agree. They are simple, but still an awesome addition to the collection. They are where it all started for me, so I give'em much love. I have Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp reissues. I love them to death.
