An on-and-off project of mine is going to be modifying Titans Return Brainstorm to be a bit more G1ish. Probably not going to go for a rebuild into the full G1 transformation scheme, but I
am going to be making some tweaks. Starting with the guns. Of all the Titans Return versions of the Autobot Headmasters, Highbrow alone came with G1-based handheld guns. Now, for Chromedome and Hardhead the most straightforward option is to just get 3rd-party ones (or lend them the originals' guns if you have those). That's an option for Brainstorm as well, but it's not the only one. Because Brainstorm technically does come with G1-style guns... they're just fused to his shield/fuselage. So I decided to just hack those off, file the rough edge, and give them pegs.
I think it turned out nicely, and it didn't really cost me extra.
The other aspect of this was modifying the shield/fuselage. I drilled holes for the pegs, measured and cut and glued on some shim panels, painted the works, and voila!
It works just like the original and T30 versions of Brainstorm, with the guns mounting here for starfighter mode and detaching for robot mode.
