o.supreme wrote:Never heard of Think Geek (no wonder...they are not in CA...), anyway, pretty sure the only major B&M store to carry Trypticon in the United States will be TRU. TRU online orders are sold out, and shipping on 8/1/17, I would not expect to see it in stores before then, but since its so easy for me to check going to & from work, I check about once a week just to see.
I still have this sinking feeling that production on Trypticon is going to be way less than Fort Max (which is still obtainable)...part of me wants to hold out for a sale, but then another part tells me to get it when I can, because I might not see it again...
For the record, I never saw a CW Devastator at B&M, however they are still obtainable on some 3rd party sites for retail cost.
Never saw Metroplex at any B&M either in 2013/2014, and unfortunately I was not looking online at the time.
o.supreme wrote:OK, makes sense. Gamestop (fka Funcoland) used to be cool way back when, in the late 90's when they used to have non-game merchandise (I guess Think Geek is where it all moved to). I could always count on them to mistakenly put out anime dvd's a week or two before their scheduled release date. But now all we have in CA are Gamestops around practically every corner in my area, which, for various reasons I will not shop at, and I'm pretty sure they wont have Trypticon.
Y'know, now that you say that, it makes a lot of sense. That hadn't even occurred to me, and now I realize I could've saved myself quite a bit of pain if I'd just thought about it for a minute.MadProject wrote:Also, I wanted to know because I read online that placing the stickers is much easier with the legs detached.
Are there reports of a looseness issue with the TM port on Full Tilt? Both of my copies have also had extremely tight neck ports (the second one probably even more so than the first); I know the TM port on Trypticon's head is a bit loose, but that actually makes it much easier to get the Titan Master in and out from there.MadProject wrote:Also, my copy of Full Tilt doesn't have the titan master port looseness issue. In fact, my TM joint is so hard that I feared to break it while I was tryin' to remove Necro to convert Full Tilt back in car mode.

Speaking of, if anyone has trouble fitting Titan Masters (or Necro at least) into their Trypticon's head-port - it can be quite tricky if you try and do it 'normally' - try sliding it in diagonally from the back of Tryp's head. Trying to clip it straight in like you'd do on another TR toy is particularly hard thanks to the spring mechanism, but there's just about enough room to fit the full small-TM-head behind the port and then slide it into place horizontally. To take it out, try flipping the TM's legs open (into robot mode position) and then just pull upward on those to detach. It's not scary and doesn't apply any worrying forces, but it makes it a heck of a lot easier to get the TM out than trying to pry on the smooth domed surfaces of Necro's head mode. (Naturally though, I don't think this'd work so well with Titan masters that have their hips attached via friction as opposed to a pin-joint.)

Well I heard that a number of their stock had damaged boxes. I saw somebody on TFW2005 say that they were sold out except for damaged box stock for a while, but I still ordered after you.
I'll look for that quote but I'm at work and cant get to it right this second.
mordhelm wrote:Hey Death, just a funny note, my order is now in PoL after I asked them about 'priority fulfillments' of preorders. They replied that it's mostly first come first serve, but there is an "algorithm" in place for additional queuing. So it's not necessarily that it's priority because you are person XYZ instead of person ABC.
If you haven't gotten yours in PoL yet, I would message them. I was pretty cordial about it, asking a question rather than making demands.
mordhelm wrote:They said it's definitely by date and time first, mostly. But there are apparently certain instances where it's not the case. It's weird, but I'm fine with it either way, since I get my figures.

My guess is that they use a first in/first out queueing system, but based on the number of toys they expect to get in. Say the first shipment is going to be 100 units. The first 100 people to pre-order get slotted to those first 100 units. The next 100 people go to the next shipment of 100 and so on. However, if there is a cancellation from one of the first 100, I'm guessing that the next person to order simply replaces the cancelled buyer. That way you are only overwriting 1 buyer in whatever database they use instead of slotting ever buyer after the cancellation up by one place.

I was unable to see anything about Full Tilt and Necro due to the over exposure. Not sure why it needed to be so high.
Also it was hard to make out anything about the interior of the ship mode.

It's to wash out any imperfections in the white paper he uses as a backdrop - makes it look like he's got a huge, empty white room with not a speck of dust to be seen anywhere
Plus, sometimes people have the contrast on their monitors turned WAY down, so what looks fine on their screens is washed out on everyone else's....

You would enjoy Death's reviews then.
