To fellow Masterpiece Convoy/Optimus collectors
With the release of MP-10 Convoy/Optimus Prime, I was wondering how it would impact the resale value of the MP-01, MP-04 and all the other variations of the previous MP Convoy figure? Would MP-10 be perceived as "superior" to the previous MP Convoy thus lowering the value? Or might the discontinued status of the previous MP convoy/OP drive the value up?

I highly doubt it will drive up prices as the market is pretty flooded and there's a MP Optimus Prime / Convoy for anyone. The only likely candidate for a significant price change is MP-4 with the trailer, since it misses Roller, which MP-10 has. I can't decide between the two to be honest.

Maybe, but not significantly, the price of MP-01 will drop; but personally I think MP-1 is still superior (size-and finger-articulation-wise)

As an owner of both, I'd say MP-10 is the route I'd go. Then grab a cheap 20th anniversary MP Prime on eBay or something.

Re: To fellow Masterpiece Convoy/Optimus collectors
I own multiples of each version of the previous MP Convoy/OP figures and will own the MP-10 once it's shipped from BBTS. For the sake of future resell value-wise I'm hoping that both figures will be viewed as separate and retain their value. I understand that's probably unrealistic and that most might consider MP-10 the the definitive MP Convoy/OP. I enjoy my collection but also view it as an investment so I'm interested on how the release of MP-10 will affect the value of the previous MP Convoy/OP.

The thought of toys made past certain regulations implemented by ROHS during the early 90's to have appreciating value does not cross my mind any more. I'm just happy to have played with the toys that I want in my life time.
