My oldest daughter (14) starts as a freshman in high school today.. This day always seemed like it was so far away and now it is here.
Yes I know there is a couple of people that are older age wise so don’t post “I’m older than you

” or something like that because your post will be removed..

Anyway, she is looking forward to school this year and joining drama..
Anyone else have high school aged kids?

I have a still-in-the-womb-aged kid right now. Sadly, I can't yet feel your pain. But if it's any consolation, I feel old already.

My son just had his first birthday last month - man that came fast! So I 'sorta' feel your pain, but not 100%....

How old are you anyway? I'm 26 at the end of September.

31 here. I think I started feeling old when I turned 30. But it's one of those mind-over-matter things, and I have to get past the number.

I can't relate, sorry.

However, my ninth grade year was my fav. I had a lot of fun that year and lost my virginity(however, I eventually stopped looking for it).

So...yeah...birds and the bees thing.

I refuse to go past that 30 mark. I'm 29 part 2, dag nabbit.

My two kids are 3 and 6 months. I have a way to go, but I'm still dreading that whole going to school for the first time thing.

It's not that bad when they first start. My youngest will start school next August..
Poor baby has a very late birthday so she could not start this year.

When the baby graduates from Kindergarten the oldest will be graduating from high school.

i realised i was old a few years ago, i was coming home from work and saw some kids hanging out on a street corner and i thought to myself 'bloody kids, aint they got anything better to do?'...5 minutes later i rememberd that i used to do exactly the same thing 10-15 years earlier...i felt like such an old codger

Well, I'm 23 and already run a household of four. My oldest will be three next month but is already riding the bus to preschool. When I am 37 he will be 17. That will be odd.

The other night I was talking to one of the girls I work with on the flow team and we were talking music.

I bought up that my favorite bands were Kiss and Def Leppard.She goes "Those are my dads favorite bands" too which I replied"How old is your dad?"

She said he is 41

:shock:

I then replied thats my age

Wow I felt old there I guess I collect so I don't feel old

And I have allways wondered if I would still be doing this 20 years from now

Bishop don't feel old yet there is still 4 years until her graduation

My wife is 41 as well and she figured it out that if she had a child at age 18, that kid would be about 23..
If I had a child when I was 18 it would be right around 19 right now..

I turn 31 tomorrow. Last year, turning 30 sucked but this birthday isn't that bad. I do feel old though especially when one of the young guys in my office told me he was in grade school when I got out of high school. That smarted a bit.

I learned from my parents, my mom was 18 when she had me. So I'm glad I waited as long as I did. I definately couldn't have handled the responsiblity of a child at 18 or even 25.

However, I can't disagree more. Compared to the crushing weight of college, bills, employment, etc...I tend to worry a lot less about my social life. I'd gladly go back to the simple life of high school outcast in comparison.

And just a quick FYI, teachers are not spreading that rumor, It was something I (and after reading responses in the other thread) realized on our own. I think for myself, I don't have some teacher thinking for me.

I will forever be 5 years old in my mind. Our baby is still gestating at the moment and I've wondered how it will make me feel when it finally comes. I'm not planning on feeling old, I'm 28, but we'll see.

They're the best years of her life, yeah - but only if she makes it so. Yeah, you can let people and circumstance drag you down, or you can enjoy yourself. I mean, I don't even fit in with the people I get on with, I'm a fecking New Romantic in 2007 for crying out loud, and so? My school didn't want me as a student, so I made sure they didn't look at me as one. Jobs? I've been 'made redundant' as they say already. Do I care? NO! That job was like "Clerks" in colour, and my current one's paying me pretty well. She has the type of personality where she makes the best of whatever situation she is (kind of like how I used to handle things) in so I think she will do fine.

That's good. I don't really know about you guys and your education system, but as far as ours goes, your first year really shapes everything for a few years afterwards.
