BM's Asthetic fit (Somewhat) Plus, that was 90's, the standard wern't that high, like they are today. Prime uses a mixture of animated and movie asthetic, while WFC Uses it's own Styled mixture of (I honestly don't remember the comic name derp) and movie transformation asthetic, but still to is't own merit, also incorperate's G1 asthetic. There's too much "mass shifting" Between the two for it to work.

Ignoring Beast Wars's the bridging of the gap between G1 and BM, how on Earth does BM's design fit? Can you honestly say that Nightscream and BM Rattrap could easily be put alongside the G1 alumni and not look out of place?BeastProwl wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Tell that to G1 and Beast Machines.BeastProwl wrote:All I'm saying is, with that Asthetic, one can't be a sequel or prequel to the other, and that is all.

There are millions and millions of years existing between the era of WFC/Exodus/Exiles and the era of Prime/the MMOs. That's plenty of time for body design aesthetics to evolve and enhance to a new look.

ok? And with G1 2 Billion years, and they wake up and look the same? well, they were knocked out the whole time, but teletrans "repairs" Could have changed their appearences, but it didn't. And BM's Asthetic happened due to them retuning to Cybertron, and being Re-Formated. That's the "Story" Behind it, but truth be told, it was the animation groups trying out something "New".
Linking Two things like WFC and Prime is just Hasbro Bridging the gaps in their own right, If that's even what their trying to do, and also, if I recall correctly, Arcee had flashbacks of her on Cybertron with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and tailgate, and they all looked the same, for show's sake or not, they still did. I draw that they are two DIFFERENT continuities that hasbro or whoever's in charge is trying half assidly to tie together, and failing miserably.

Where's you get "2 billion years" from?BeastProwl wrote:ok? And with G1 2 Billion years, and they wake up and look the same? well, they were knocked out the whole time, but teletrans "repairs" Could have changed their appearences, but it didn't.
And there was no major activity going on inside the Ark during all that time, so there couldn't have been any innovations and enhancements in body designs during that time. Whereas, with the Aligned Continuity, there's no sign of any such period of inactivity, giving amply opportunities for bodies to be upgraded and new innovations to come about.
How do you know there won't be an in-store explanation for the design differences later on? Anything's still possible at this point.BeastProwl wrote:And BM's Asthetic happened due to them retuning to Cybertron, and being Re-Formated. You know, Beast Wars was originally created as a non-G1 show that had no ties to it whatsoever, yet no one had a problem with linking it to G1.BeastProwl wrote:Linking Two things like WFC and Prime is just Hasbro Bridging the gaps in their own right, If that's even what their trying to do,
That was never said to be Cybertron. Plus, the war escalated to multiple planets, likely including such colony worlds as Velocitron and Gigantion, before it reached Earth. That flashback could have taken place on any number of these worlds given that its setting was never revealed.BeastProwl wrote:and also, if I recall correctly, Arcee had flashbacks of her on Cybertron with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and tailgate, and they all looked the same, for show's sake or not, they still did.
And yet, the show's creators keep saying that they based several elements of this show off those of Exodus (BB's voice, Prime/Megs's relationship, Starscream formerly leading the Seeker Air Command, Prime having once been like Jack, etc.), which is an expanded retelling of WFC. They have the final say, as it's their intellectual property. We as fans have no say in what is and isn't canon.BeastProwl wrote:I draw that they are two DIFFERENT continuities that hasbro or whoever's in charge is trying half assidly to tie together, and failing miserably.

Say or No say, I say they are "Re-telling" it rather strangely. instead of arguing this into the dirt and de-railing this topic, how about this?
Lets agree to disagree? I mean, if we as fans have no word in this, like persay, "That wasn't cybertron, just another very similar planet to Cybertron, and at that time, they all took on new forms" ect. ect. ect. If their going for it to be a sequal to WFC, Why not just say it in those words instead of all the shotty link up that supposedly exists?
just say:
Transformers Prime is a Direct Sequel to War For Cybertron, and then let's see what the masses say.
As for my reasoning with the 2 billion years bit, well, watch G1 episode 1
they say 2 billion years later. and no major activity doesn't mean teletran couldn't whip up a few new looks for the bots, bt what done is done, and these are just opinions! If we do continue this argument however, lets continue it elsewere, I don't want to de-rail someone's thread over a petty word throwdown, seams un-fair to the person.

It's not a DIRECT sequel, it's a far off distant era follow up. WFC2 and Exiles the DIRECT sequels to WFC1 and Exodus.BeastProwl wrote:just say:

Yes it does. If no one was around to program new info design information into Teletraan I, then Teletraan wouldn't know to create new designs, what with Teletraan having also been offline and inactive for all that time. Besides, Teletraan was simply "repairing" them with new altmodes, not "reformatting" them completely.BeastProwl wrote:and no major activity doesn't mean teletran couldn't whip up a few new looks for the bots,

Imported from the Autobot thread:
Bludgeon (the skull-faced samurai)
Crankcase (a TF that look like the Predator is a winner in my book)
Boom-Bust (he would'nt be a pretender, but he would change from a something to a monstrous werebat)
Hatchet (a jet who change into an horrible beast)
Skullgrin (based on the Generation toy)
The Seacons combiner team (count for one and would go well in Seaspray and Breacher's episode)
Wait a minit. All my 'cons are monster themed! Oh I so want to see them all, more than the Autobots.
But yeah, a two-part episode involving the Seacons, Seaspray, and Breacher would be totally win. I so want this to happen! I'll wish uppon a star for it.
At this, lemme add some non-monster 'cons:
Lugnut (Megs need someone to lick his boots and kick major ass)
Demolishor (One of my favorite 'cons in Armada and Energon(before he changed))
And finally, Terradive. (His HftD toy is so good, I want to see him in action.)

The constructicons.
It might be neat to seem them come in slowly too. Get to know the characters a bit. Know them as individuals, and then see them as a team and devastator.

If only Animated could have a follow up, continuing the story where we left off. Would that be even possible?
Anyway, back on topic:

Movie-ish Blackout with a hint of the Animated personality. By that I mean he's a giant invincible monster....
Also the Dreads because they're just THAT awesome, and would fit TF:Prime's style well I think.
Bruticus is also high on the list because he's my favorite G1 TransFormer.
Besides that there isn't really anyone else, maaaybe SixShot?
AH, right can't forget Blackout's partner Scorponok, except in TF:Prime, I think it'd be awesome if he had a personality more akin to DOTM LaserBeak, sort of like a comical Assassin.

I knew they were in WFC but that doesn't mean they'll necessarily be in TF:Prime, but it's always good if they are.
Had no idea they ever mentioned Scorponok though, that's pretty cool.
Also it seems TFwiki's down at the moment, drat...

And so it is! Hm, I wonder which Scorponok they're referring to, I prefer the movie one to G1 but WFC is usually more into referencing G1 material it seems.

I'm thinking one similar to Marvel G1 Scorponok, who. Is. AWESOME!zenosaurus_x wrote:And so it is! Hm, I wonder which Scorponok they're referring to, I prefer the movie one to G1 but WFC is usually more into referencing G1 material it seems.

Hm, in that case I hope they fuse them, bot mode as normal like Marvel, alt-mode like Movie Scorponok and then the personality of Marvel.
