Good list!

For me, a MP figure is automatically put at #1, so I would take MP22 off, and replace him with RiD 2001 Magnus.

The only other change I might make is taking out CW Magnus, and leaving Takara Legends as a stand alone entry. While the exact same figure, Takara's extra mile in the paint department makes one hell off a difference.

Lack of painted rims still makes me want to beat my head against a rock.

G1 Ultra Magnus is my favorite transformer because of his look. So cool. The trailer combining gimmick that prime would later steal (I know I know, Powered Convoy... But I'm talking about Ultra Magnus here) was so awesome. I wish that the MP was a white MP10 with a trailer that became the armor just like the original. I don't care about parts forming. But boy I wish I had that Ultra Mammoth. *Sigh* it came out when I didn't have money and wasn't as in to collecting as I am today. I didn't know about such things. Now all I can do is look at pictures and pretend I'm gonna buy it one day...

Dude. You WILL. Sooner or later, a golden opportunity will just land on your lap. It can take months or years. But if you really WANT something, you WILL get it. So many figures I got this way while dogging the inflated second market prices! ;)^

Thanks for the vote of confidence. That's how I ended up with my MP Ultra Magnus. And you have renewed my resolve to obtain my Ultra Mammoth! Last spring a local geek store opened. Speciality: Transformers and Marvel action figures! And he had (and still have) a very extensive G1 collection for sale. But the best part is not only was he reasonably priced, but he took ANY used Transformers for trade-in Gamestop style!

This way, I got G1 Bludgeon and Thunderwing. Both figures I never thought I would get 100% complete for so cheap! With the same store, I got even more pretenders, a whole bunch of G1 Headmasters, some more G1s, and a 99% complete collection of ACTION MASTERS!

Now unfortunately, I have no longer any extra stuff to trade. That geek store took so many stuff from me that he barely take any trades anymore! :lol:

Very recently, I got Platinum YOTH Starscream. A toy that I NEVER wanted to import for the 150$+ it would have cost me. But lo and behold, some random guy had a sealed one for sale in the local classified. I finally got my YOTH Starscream for 55$CAN... with the thing delivered right on my doorstep in person!

AAaaannnnnnnnddddddd this lead back to this very Ultra Magnus thread. My next want-to-buy-but-not-at-full-price-so-I'll-be-patient toy is the Platinum Ultra Magnus. Based on the Weaponiser Optimus Prime:

such a beautiful story full of hope and promise. I hope you get the YOTH Ultra Magnus. YOTH Magnus has some nice colors. Prime is one of my favorite cartoon series and I was happy they brought in Magnus. The Beast Hunter Magnus is another one I need.

My best story is: I bought Cybertron Optimus (my first Optimus, and I am very happy I got him) when he was in stores. I was into Cybertron and it was my first Transformer since BW Depthcharge. I ended up getting Leobreaker to combine, but ended up missing the end of the show where he combines with Wingsaber. Fast forward to 2010 and the internet is in full swing and I YouTube is a thing and wikis are coming around, and I decide to finish Cybertron. And lo and behold I see Prime combine with Wingsaber... And I get super excited because my toy just got even better and I couldn't believe it. Now I go to eBay to find a Wingsaber... Only to discover how expensive it is. Then I find a new in box thing called Sonic Bomber that looks just like Wingsaber. I research and I find out that this company called Takara has Transformers toys too, and this Sonic Bomber has chrome swords. I email this seller and ask if it is compatible with the American Cybertron Prime. They say they don't know, but they will sell it to me for $20 if I try it and let them know so they can add it to the description. I jumped on it and now my Wingsaber has chrome. So great.

Which brings me to a point to get back on topic. Cybertron Prime to me was always begging to be retooled into Ultra Magnus. Take off the wings. Retool the cannons to be a car carrier. Combining with the trailer was already built into it. A few tweaks and a paint job and he could easily have been Magnus, especially since Magnus wasn't in Cybertron. Perhaps a list of "missed retool opportunities" that should have been.

Also I mentioned Depthcharge... Just saying, another could have been that didn't make the cartoon: Ultra Manta... Serious, just look at it and switch the colors to red, white, and blue. I photoshopped the colors on a picture I took of it and just about painted him. If I had an extra Depthcharge I would have. His manta wings are begging to be "Magnus shoulder pads." Ultra Manta stomping Preds with Optimus Primal, or along side Ultra Mammoth. A boy can dream.

You know, I am sad RID Magnus isnt here, and yet I cant dispute any of the 5+HM Nominees.

My 1 complaint with the G1, and the Generations and Masterpiece figures that emulate it: If thats an auto carrier than I am an orangutan. seriously, a box frame with cars on itdoes not equal a car carrier. We know what an autocarrier looks like, you made in 2001, so how about we get back to the original Classics Mission Statement of giving us updated looks of G1 and get an actual auto carrier? Or I dunno? The RID Magnus with actually useable FEET instead of just standing on his cankles.

No deneing that it IS a REAL car carrier. Full compatible and in scale with deluxes.

Id' really love an updated version of this toy, with a more solid bot mode. Even if the combining gimmick must be sacreficed in the process.

I think a lot of people have him on their top 5 Magni (yeah I said it. Magni. Optimus isn't there only one to get an "i" for plurality. Haha) I was surprised he wasn't in there too, but it's not my list. I have to bump G1 because of his white Optimus innards, but I think I would have to in order to put RID/CR Magnus in there, probably at number 2 after MP22 for me. Especially with RID Magnus' effect of powering up Prime... Which reminds me...

I know, but Savage Claw is so lack luster, I actually left it off. I actually took the arms off of my first Cyb Prime so I could put both LeoBreakers and Wing Saber on jim. Kinda eish I knew where all the screws for that were now.

Whereas Energon gets 2, actually FOUR seperate power up modes, Prime's own, the deluxe Powerlinx Prime exclusive, with Energon Wing Saber, and with Energon Omega Supreme.
