I especially like the Animated version because the helmet covers most of those annoying Animated facial aesthetics. The Animated body aesthetic is very feminine as well. She looks a lot like the Beast wars screen model, plus she turns into a spider. After writing this, I think Im gonna buy one for my CHUG shelf. I had no Beast Wars stuff when this figure was in stores, but now I see the potential she has for CHUG.

You gotta be patient with Beast Wars because it is just now reaching the age where the homage value is coming into play with 90’s kids all grown up ready to buy. We have seen a host of both Hasbro and Funpub Beast Wars homages in recent years and Im sure more are coming.

We almost had a CHUG Silverbolt, but the contest was overwhelmed with Japanese fans who wanted a stupid Goshooter from a mold that isn’t even a headmaster. I was hoping for Silverbolt myself because the Grimwing mold works so well. And Im sure someone would have designed a better head to make it even better. The only good thing about that fan contest was that it proved the Sunstreaker, Bluestreak, and Ironhide molds are still intact and ready to deliver some Diaclone goodness if us fans call for it enough.

Image

Oh god no, you did NOT compare Airachnid's toy with BW Blackarachnia!
Agreed with the missed oportunity of a new Silverbolt, though.

Actually Air Razor did get an update in the form of a pre-earth cybertronian mode by funpub. Its pretty cool. on Blackarachnia, while im no fan of her coptor mode, I still count it as a homage. As ststed earlier, I prefer the animated figure. I would love to see funpub redeco it with more orange and no purple. That would work for me. I would rather see hasbro focus on scorponok and terrasaur and inferno who dont have an older mold that can be properly redecoed.

A titan sized tidal wave...yes please. How many souls must I sacrifice to get that.

I own the Energon version of tw and I love it to pieces a bigger and more detailed version (especially in the aircraft carrier) would be most welcome.

I just wish Tomy or Hasbro would simply take old vintage molds, and add new / different parts to them, to create some kind of hybrid between G1 & CHUG.

Haha, sorry I fooled you, but that picture was SO perfect to illustrate how we need some updates in order for scenes to make sense. And as I said, never mind a generations version, I would LOVE a G1 toy rerelease :) Glad you like the lists, I have enough for another 2 years at least.

Nemesis Maximo wrote:I agree with all of these except Silverbolt. Beast Machines Silverbolt was very disappointing, especially coming off of Beast Wars.

Well, this list was the very first to be mostly done with input from the community thanks to your advice. But I did indulge myself by inserting one entry that was my own, and you can basically guess which one that was ;)

You beat me to it. And your argument for Tidal Wave being "so much more cool than he is" is the same argument I would give for BM Silverbolt. That guy was basically Batman (check out his forearms and the episode he was introduced in is called In Darkest Knight).

I honestly feel combiner wars is emulating that exact idea. And in the case of the recent legends figures, that is exactly what is happening,

1. Powermaster Optimus. Yes, Optimus has lots of good toys, and many of those are generations toys, but not in Powermaster form. I don't really care about the apex armor, since that wasn't a thing (in America) until well later, but he needs Hi-Q.

2. Insecticon Kickback. We already have Bombshell and "Skrapnel", they NEED to complete the trio. I'd also like to see the deluxe insecticons, but ol' grasshopperbreath is the one that HAS to get made for generations.

3. Omega Supreme. Titan. 'nuff said.

4. Sky Lynx. Yeah, for a character that got so much airtime back in the day, you'd think they would've gotten to him by now. Not a Takara, but neither were Whirl/Roadbuster and we got them, and they really got shafted in fiction.

5. Doublecross. I just like Doublecross.

Not sure you understand what update means... Animated Blackarachnia is Animated Blackarachnia, Airachnid is Airachnid, and that Airazor was a repaint. Updates are new molds based on old designs... Animated Blackarachnia was a new design, Airachnid is a different character entirely, and Airazor was not a new mold. Like you mentioned, those were just homaged, and none of them fit on the Classics shelf (especially with the AEC, Animated, and Prime aesthetics).

I honestly felt that very few beast machines figures did their figures proper justice. The three best figures in that line were the black Arachnia, the deluxe cheetor, and the vehicon thrust

If they ever make a Generations Swoop, then a Generations Terrorsaur will probably be made from that same mold and vice - versa (Whether good or bad that's probably what's going to happen if they ever get to them)

Which Blackarachnia?

This one:

This figure is one of the few to be reasonably show-accurate, color aside, plus the spider mode isn't too shabby:

1. Leader sized G1 Galvatron.
2. Supreme sized Overlord.
3. Titan Trypticon
4. Leader sized G1 Rodimus Prime. One piece truck to bot transformation. Similar to 2015 Generations Leader Ultra Magnus.
5. Leader sized G1 Shockwave. That Transforms from robot to the iconic G1 Space laser gun.

Great list...I'd like to add...Bludgeon.

Yeah we got that pretty cool DOTM figure, but I'd like something a little less....Bayish.

I'm thinking a scaled down redeco of the CW Megatron mold might be pretty damn cool.

That is the one, if they would have done a deluxe silverbolt instead of that basic waste of plastic then I would have been happy. Oh also a better night scream then the piece of crap they managed to put out. They even got it right the second time around with the air attack primal.

Ohhh Nightscream yeah that is a great choice.

I mean we got two version...insanely oversized massive, or Happy Meal toy...and to be honest...Happy Meal is actually the better product.
