ive been trying to perpetuate C/G, as in classics/generations. i figure that covers everything and its not dumb sounding.
That's a good one. i always feel bad that Reveal the shield gets left out of chug but i use it so people know what i am referring to. I guess we could simply just use Classics too since it came first and set a precedent for the lines to come.
Actually I like to use the term CHURG as that covers Classics, Henkai/Hunt for the Decepticons, United/Universe, Reveal the Shield, and Generations.
we're trying to escape silly sounding anagram. :-x

So I guess CHUD is out.

I just found this Beast Wars scale guide featured in a bonus on the Beast Wars DVD set of Season 2. Dinobot really is supposed to be the tallest maximal by a fair margin.

Yeah, but I dont remember him being that tall on the show either. He was always smaller than Megatron while Dinobot seemed to be near Megatron's height.

Looking at it again scorponok is way too small, he was no near the same size as rattrap.

yeah, those predacons are all out of whack. But the Maximals work well. Also, notice that some are weaking their alternate heads.

Those must be some really early test shots then, waspinator looks very little like the finished model, especially the chest area

I agree that DOTM Megs needed to be bigger. He's my fave movie Megatron and needed more articulation aswell as an upgrade in size.

If I may be so bold, I might list my own top 5 TFs in need of an upscale.

5:Beast Machines Blackarachnia.
Blackarachnia absolutely dwarfed her fellow Maximals in Beast Machines and yet her toy is a tiny Deluxe. Surely a new Voyager mold is in order?

4: Movie Blackout.
Alas, poor Blackout. One of the largest and coolest 'Cons in the first movie...and he gets lumped with the smallest Voyager figure ever. Ideally I'd like to see a Leader class Blackout, given how huge he is.

3: RTS Laser Optimus Prime.
An incredible update of one of the coolest retro toys ever made, let down by only being a Deluxe. The only reason this isn't higher is because we do at least have a good Voyager class Optimus Prime in the form of the Classics mold.

2: Classics Seekers.
As mentioned before, the Seekers REALLY need Voyager class figures. The Classics mold is too small, and the new Generations mold is far too large.

1: WFC Megatron.
Ugh. One of the coolest G1 inspired Megatron designs in recent years, with a cool looking tank mode and an awesome robot mode, and the ideal candidate for the perfect Neo-CHUG Megatron...but he's only a Deluxe. He works for a WFC/FOC only display (where everyone is a Deluxe and thus the same size) but he'd work so well in other collections if only he wasn't so damn small! And unlike Optimus Prime, there really isn't a good Voyager class CHUG Megatron aside from the Classics mold- and that turns into a Nerf gun!

Honourable mentions go to Armada Supercon Optimus Prime (AKA "Bendy" Prime), who would have made the list had RTS Laser Prime not taken the spot (I only wanted one Prime on the list), ROTF Demolishor (who, despite being way too small to go with "normal" scaled movie toys, actually works well in a Legends/Cyberverse display) and Deluxe Classic Megatron from the 2-pack.

It is always encouraged for people to write their own lists and I love yours :)

My favourite entry is Blackout. A leader class of that mold would come in really handy to recreate that scene in the woods since we have the Leaders for every other character in that scene.

It wouldn't really be an upscale, but I think with some proper remolding of CW Megatron (not just a new head... looking at you Armadamegs) you could get a decent Galvatron with an alt mode not too far from CHUGGY Galvy. I mean that chest panel, how hard would it be to remold that into something Galvatronish? New cannon and maybe some new knees, you could get something really decent here, methinks.

Not that I see this happening anytime soon with Galavatron now a combiner mode for Cyclonus... But it's just something that playing around with CW Megs got me to thinking about.

Galvatron is rumoured to come out in the next year or two as a headmaster.

Just wanted to point out that within the year this article was published, we got a reveal that a bigger Galvatron was coming and 2017's titan will probably be Trypticon :)

Sometimes, life is good.

But yeah, 'tis a good time to be a fan. Galvatron looks absolutely fantastic, even with the Headmaster. If he ever shows up in my area I'm grabbing him on sight.

I did think of another guy who needs an upscale- none other than the almighty TIDAL WAVE. I absolutely love his original toy to bits, but if they made a new version in Titan scale with knees I'd be all over it. Really all they'd need to do is take the basic engineering of the original toy, upscale it and add in some extra joints and gimmicks.
