Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Those are uber tempting.. But way out of my price range for them.. Hasbro will be a lot cheaper.

I'd say at $150 it's worth having a very convincing Masterpiece-esque Shockwave.
As for the others, your mileage may vary.
But, c'mon.
SHOCKWAVE.

Eh, I have Generations Shockwave as my Classics Shockwave. Unless Quakewave can dazzle me someway, somehow, I'm keeping a strict budget that concerns only those beautiful Generations figures unveiled yesterday.

I can see why it might not release though due to the fact they messed up the scaling with the figures. Grimlock should of been leader class and Optimus would of been way better if he was bumped up to voyager. If a Megatron were to be made a deluxe figure wouldnt work and it would be dumb if he was made to be the same size as grimlock. So i guess hasbro is just like "screw it no megatron just epic generations figures (got no complaints with that) Im still waiting for my grimlock to show up in the mail though.
There's already a WFC Megatron in the original Generations line in 2010:

He's hardly changed in design in FOC, unlike Optimus Prime.

Generations Shockwave is a great figure, but he comes from the time when Hasbro was desperately saving on plastic, and ends up being shorter than Generations Swindle.
And that cannot stand.
And, as I have often felt compelled to state, and has been echoed in sentiments by many of my board colleagues: one can never have too many Shockwaves.
Returning to the topic however...
G1 Metroplex?
Okay, I hate it now.

The dark gray United version of that mold is probably the closest analogue to his FOC body.
Hm... Metroplex could crush WFC Megatron under fist...

FOC Megatron looks drastically different from his WFC design. Hes bigger, has different colors, and his face doesn't even look the same. But the tank modes are still pretty similar. But still, i would of liked to see a FOC megatron figure with light purple translucent parts for his claw things on his back.
And when metroplex does release. I'd like to see someone recreate the scene when megatron got crushed. Man i remember when i first played that i was thinking "is this really happening!?" Most ridiculous scene... being able to control metroplex's hand to annihilate megatron. It reminded me of the scene in avengers when the hulk tossed around loki.

I will buy this on sight. I was actually surprised to see that Hasbro would create such a thing...it's like a fan's "wouldn't it be cool if..." scenario come to life! I wonder what the electronic functions will be.
If you put your thumb over Metroplex's head, it looks a little bit like the Matsumoto 14 robot Achilles piloted in RobotJox, doesn't it?

Well, it's still a very early model of the actual toy (it doesn't even have the sound chip and LED's installed yet, just a painted prototype the designers hastily did up for the expo), and there's no concrete way to verify if it has or hasn't got sideways arm articulation.
As for the legs, I think it's good enough at 90+ degrees. My Yamato 1/60 scale VF-1's are just as, if not more, expensive than Metroplex, and they've only got at most 50 to 60 degrees or sideways leg articulation.
That said, you do have a point regarding transformation. The city mode's a little too close to its simple G1 transformation for my liking. But...I like it enough that I'm going to let that slide.
Only thing is, where the hell am I going to find space on my shelf for a fricking two-foot-tall robot?!
That's where EXTRA shelves come in handy!
Duly noted, but my man-cave's real estate has been long since filled by 4 years of near-obsessive figure collecting.
And since the big lug doesn't scale in with anyone in my collection, he'll maybe need a custom pedestal or something to fully showcase his size.
I have absolutely no space at all for his city mode, of he'll most likely remain in bot mode 90% of the time, unless I feel bored and decide to transform him just for the heck of it.

For big figures I won't always have room to display (Masterpieces, Leader-scale figures) I keep their boxes handy so I can store them elsewhere without having to rub shoulders with lesser, common figures. I'll probably do the same with Metroplex and store him boxed in my closet, away from dust.
And only bring him out when taking photos or giving tours of my collection. Make everyone think he's on display all the time.

Okay so you're like, meh, not impressed.
Hasbro makes a Transformers toy bigger than Fortress Maximus, something that has never been done in the past 20+ years.
Wow, what toy or toyline does impress his excellency?
Anything with a good transformation and good articulation. Classics, TFP, MP. I'm more of a quality over size person. Oh, and BTW, I don't appreciate your tone.

same here. If he's available from decent, online US-based retailers and they don't mark him up past the $125 we should be able to get him shipped for about £120, assuming customs guys don't decide to have a night at the pub.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.
