Even if he doesnt come with the same accessories?
What did Sunny cost CAD? $80? $90? Starscream is the real McCoy, and the alternative (yes with more accessories) IF you can find him will cost $200+ USD. So yeah, anyone who needs an MP Screamer would be daft to pass on him.william-james88 wrote:Even if he doesnt come with the same accessories?shajaki wrote:All mold issues concerned, if he's sold at the same price Sunstorm was, its a STEAL compared to TT's.

I had this same discussion with X over "why would anyone want a FT Quakewave nowadays?".william-james88 wrote:Question for you, is an MP screamer needed as much as it used to be?
Thigh thingies, people hated it. Accurate deco helped, but people still clamored over MP11.william-james88 wrote:We had the original MP 03 and then Hasbro released theirs and people either bought him then or double dipped for the accurate deco.
See, not everyone did. I sure didn't, likewise with MP10. I wasn't that hard into TF's back then and I had MP01 and MP03 (and the accurate repaint) and figured I didn't need it. My first MP11 was Sunstorm, and after seeing how different the mold was I was in for everything (flaws and all). I bought Hasbro's MP10 from the shelf, and MP11 from eBay at a markup.william-james88 wrote:Then when the retooling of the mold came to remove that thigh kibble, Takara released theirs for 200$ so (like last time) people either got him then or double/triple dipped for more accurate deco and more accurate molding (though people still have their problems with it, I can attest to that).
If people want to put Leaderscream in their MP display, more power to them. But they're worlds apart to me.william-james88 wrote:And now while we are getting the Hasbro version of that retooled mold in starscream deco finally, we are also getting another starscream in the same G1 deco (Hasbro was very precise about the white they used) in the same scale and at half the price (lower if you just wait for a discount). So I am wondering if it's a sign that things are evolving and that the need for this mold as starscream isn't really there.
I don't get the "being over" the mold. This isn't about being over the mold to me. Its the quintessential version of the seeker, and the most popular one of them all. And I doubt that EVERYONE bought TT's MP11 when it was out the first time.william-james88 wrote:Of course the main argument people always give is : but this is MP starscream. But are we over that mold? Am I over that mold?
This is the complaint I don't get. If you want Starscream, in his greatest plastic representation, you will never get one at a better price. If you just don't want him, or want Leadersream instead, that's fine. But Hasbro's MP11 is amazing for what it is.william-james88 wrote:At that price?

Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus, Unicron?!
Booooooooooo. Didn't notice them in Prowls box..william-james88 wrote:Hasbro has been using those since last year and it was found that they were more blueprints of their G1 selves and not indicative of any upcoming MP release. In the end, they are just there to look good.

Wolfman Jake wrote:So, is Hasbro's MP Bluestreak really as spot on to the Takara-Tomy release as Prowl was allegedly last year? I'm assuming that Hasbro's Prowl had no differences, as I've never seen any mentioned, and am hoping that Bluestreak is the same in this regard.
All I can do is compare mine to pictures and I can't see a difference other than some stamping on the inside of his left foot (rear section of the car). It feels great in hand, I'm really happy to have Prowl and Bluestreak, I just need more MP Autobot cars nowwilliam-james88 wrote:I am assuming they are the same.Wolfman Jake wrote:So, is Hasbro's MP Bluestreak really as spot on to the Takara-Tomy release as Prowl was allegedly last year? I didn't get one yet, and I thought Hasbro was releasing him (rumors I guess) so now I'll pick one up. That's good to hear that he's awesome, even though I'm partial to Z cars over Lamborghini'swilliam-james88 wrote:Do you have Sideswipe yet? He didnt get a Hasbro release which is too bad since I find him to be the best car mold so far (and he was the first).itscramtastic wrote:All I can do is compare mine to pictures and I can't see a difference other than some stamping on the inside of his left foot (rear section of the car). Pretty much. Got my Hasbro one in yesterday and here are the teeny tiny nit-picky differences:Wolfman Jake wrote:So, is Hasbro's MP Bluestreak really as spot on to the Takara-Tomy release as Prowl was allegedly last year? What price would make sense for an MP seeker to you? Should it be the same as the MP cars?

Hasbro version without the cape and crown yes. I also think the Hasbro cars should be around $45
Wolfman Jake wrote:Does anyone know what the MP-11 Starscream releases have been going for at retail in Japan? I know the standard price domestically for that import is about $200, but what is it before the mark-up? That should give us a better idea as to the true value of the Hasbro version, sine the cape and crown, for $79.99.
That's just crazy enough that it seems logical!! It could definitely happen. What would be even crazier is if they parted it out between the releases. One gets the crown, one gets the shoulder pads, one gets the cape.Wolfman Jake wrote:I just had an interesting thought. Since Hasbro seems to have stopped "meddling" with the decos of Takara's MP figures for release here in the past few years (Prowl, Bluestreak, and 2014 Grimlock, along with Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and the upcoming Starscream for the most part), I wonder if, after potentially releasing Skywarp in the MP-11 mold in the next year or two, they'll go back and release Thundercracker yet again. Yes, he already got an MP-11 release a few years ago, but Hasbro had to tinker with things, and he would be the odd seeker out of the core trio in terms of his wing stripes and extra "decals" tampographed on various parts of him. Maybe, we'll get the coronation gear with a redo of MP-11 Thundercracker, incentivizing collectors who would otherwise be uninterested in another release with only "minor" deco modifications, while squeezing a little bit more money out of collectors who prefer screen accuracy and symmetry among their masterpiece seekers. Just food for thought, but if I were Hasbro, I think this plan would be genius.
