I live close to New jersey. can you please tell me what town/city/address that TRU in new jersey was that you found MP Rodimus.

Went to the Vineland TRU. I grabbed the last one on the shelf. I would call them first.

Since this is the TRU Hasbro MP Rodimus thread.

PLEASE if your local TRU stores within 60 miles distance didn't get the MP Rodimus in stock yet. please reply & say your stores didn't get the item yet.

my 5 local TRU stores in NJ & PA didn't receive any Hasbro TRU Rodimus toys yet.

I have been calling TRU stores all day today on saturday august 6,2011 within a 300 miles driving distance range. some of the TRU stores did get the mp rodimus item in stock & still have it in stock. others got it in but can't find it on shelves.

I suspect some TRU store workers are hidding the item in the back. like they use to do & I saw managemeant catch them at one of my local TRU stores.

'Tis easy enough.

TRU employee knows about demand, so TRU employee hides the toy, buys it, goes home, puts it on eBay, makes some money because TRU doesn't pay them enough to care otherwise.

It's an age-old story, unfortunately. A story that will never change.

I couldn't take it anymore and bought one on eBay. A search for "MASTERPIECE RODIMUS PRIME" now takes up 4 pages on eBay, and the prices are getting worse by the minute. Some sellers are even selling entire cases of 4 toys that didn't even make it to the floor at TRU stores.

Sadly the TRU in store computers are kinda primitive. I called a few TRU stores within my 50 miles driving range & asked a bunch of questions like as follows below:

(1) is their a set release date for this TRU MP Rodimus prime store exclusive to arrive in stores?

Answer I received from TRU customer service: NO,The computers don't reveal this info to us.

(2)When a item comes in stock at the store & then sells out? what does the computer info reveal? does it reveal initail first shipment info of the date it arrived,then sold out?

ANSWER from TRU customer service worker. No,the TRU computer in the store doesn't reveal it arrived at the store on a certain date. it doesn't reveal it sold out. it doesn't reveal when it'll arrive on a second shipment. the computer just says the store is eligible to receive this item.

So basically their is no real way of knowing the TRU store got the item,then sold out of the item.

Their is no real way of knowing the TRU store employees took the cases off the truck before the paper work for the truck got started & completed.

I called one TRU store in brooklyn today on flatbush avenue & got told the following info: Yes we have 4 TRU MP Rodimus toys in the computer. HOWEVER their not on the shelf nor is anymore in the back stock room.
MY GUESS IS TRU EMPLOYEES or customers ARE HIDING THE 4 TRU MP RODIMUS toys. it's the only logical reasoning behind this situation. had the 4 MP Rodimus toys been bought,the computer would have registered as zero count.

Agreed. They are being stashed, then bought either before closing or first thing the next day. Also, they are being bought BY THE CASE by these people, so they don't even make it to the floor. $60 each spent, $100+ each coming in. Truly sad.

That is indeed sad for collectors thanks to these scalpers. Anyhow, I'm going to be patient. If see one at my local TRU, then I'll purchase it. If not, no big deal, since I got MP9 already. Who know, with some luck, TTomy may just release Hot Rod by itself that would certain match nicely with MP9 Rodimus.

I agree. the set release date for all TRU stores to have the MP Rodimus items on the shelf for sale was the first week of august. depending on when the truck arrived at the store & got unloaded.

IMHO,if your local TRU stores claim they didn't get any mp rodimus yet on august 6,2011. then something is being done on a corrupt level by store employess to stash items away & to manipulate to computer inventory count of the item they hid.

I called a dozen TRU stores today on august 6,2011 within a 300 miles driving distance range. most TRU stores 140+miles away from my home revealed each TRU store received 16 MP Rodimus toys at a singular store.

So perhaps the TRU store employees are grabbing the cases worth of 16 volume units of MP Rodimus & buying them all before they reach the sales floor.

By all accounts everything shows that TRU store in america got the truck in at each store last tuesday night with the MP Rodimus toys o them. then it took a day or 2 to unload the truck.

my 6 local tru stores within a 50 miles range of driving distance claim to not have any MP Rodimus in stock in their computers. So i'm gonna give them another week & be OPTIMISTC their getting their first shipment next week.

Like I said in a above reply. the TRU store computers at customet serice are primite. the computers don't reveal first shipment info came in on a certain date then sold out. the TRU store computers don't reveal when second shipment will arrive. the tru store computers don't reveal when a item will first come in stock weeks/months in advance. their are no set release dates for store exclusive items revealed to workers/customers on the store computers.

THIS is why I hate it when TRU stores get exclusives. I like target & walmart best for store exclusives. because they have more advanced computers & better trained workers.

I got my MP Rodimus Friday morning at TRU in Pensacola Florida. They had 3 left on the shelf if anyone near there is looking for them. I would have bought them but only had enough cash for one. My brother that works at the TRU in Denver Co. has been trying to get hold of this guy for a while and his store got 4 in Friday morning and they never even hit the shelves before they were gone. He didn't even get his so it's pretty brutal out there even for employees. So far I've missed out on every MP figure except Skywarp(got lucky and found him in walmart clearance bin for $15!!) so I knew months ago when this figure was announced that I would hunt it down because Rodimus has always been my favorite Transformer. Most people who REALLY wanted this guy did like me and tracked it and were determined to get it... The rest were mostly scalpers and a few who will get lucky...

everyone grab a magnum and take out those scalpers. I'm very sorry to hear about the problem. Don't resort to ebay - don't feed the scalpers. They'll return them when they can't their $ back. Send them a message.

went to a local TRU today & forgot to look for Rodimus. Don't believe they had him though

Wouldn't it just be easier to just not buy from online auctions (in doing so, effectively cutting the "scalpers" out of the equation)? If the stuff they sell doesn't sell, they end up right back on store shelves, correct? Patience and strategic use of funds seem logical compared to impulse spending and keeping scalpers in business. Kinda would be a better collecting experience all around.

Bottom Line...

No more free lunches, scalpers. This is our world; if you don't intend to keep it, don't freakin' buy it! This is the end for you and your kind...

Good news,I asked a family member who lives in Brooklyn,New york to pick me up a TRU Hasbro MP Rodimus toy. The store had 14 in stock,after I got my one,now they have 13 in stock.
