TR Galvatron minor changes

Postby Yankee0 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 8:00 am

Hello all,

Really been bitten by the minor repainting bug recently, just finished up a few small changes to TR Galvatron, including removing the jet kibble and adding a few shapeways bits.

Motto: "Earthrise restock or riot"
Well, you certainly did a competent job installing the parts, though the only one I personally care for is the side-mount bracket for his cannon. I personally think the Shapeways helmet and back spar look godawful. I know some people do like that look much as they like Carnifex and Hexatron, though. My personal preference is just for the closer-to-cartoon original mask and long back spar (which is present on his animation model. And his original toy, where it was the rear tread in cannon mode and the handle in gun mode - I personally thought repurposing it as a jet/starfighter fuselage was clever, and probably more interesting for the kids than leaving the 3rd mode as a submarine raygun would have been)
WANT:
* Cyb. Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* Leader Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* Cyb. Wing Saber left chestplate (argh)

Cheers!

Personally, I like the back spar, not a massive fan of the jet mode kibble as I think he looks a lot more streamlined and athletic minus the backback. I can see what you mean about giving a third mode with some playability though.

The helmet is not perfect, but to my mind better than the mask (with the addition of some paint to the face) purely because it doesn't leave the gap when looking side on. Purely a matter of personal preference though.

Looking again, I'm not sure about the protective coat I used over the paint, on the close ups it looks a bit too clumpy despite using light coats.
