Trailer for classics Prime

Came across this in Zellers today and I couldn't pass it up.

It actually works better scale-wise than I thought it would looking at it in store. Don't have a roddy or mirage, but they'd fit if they're not wider than cliffjumper.

It'd take a bit of work to Mod it up, but the end results could be pretty good. Will need to remove a pin to get the cab off and also deal with fitting the feet under the front end.

Picked it up for $15. Its called gas caps, by Maisto. Cab lights up and plays music too, with the push of a button. The license plate and stripes has me wondering if it was a deliberate transformers homage.

Maisto does make some Tonka toys, and as we all know, Hasbro owns Tonka. Given the color scheme of the trailer, the truck, the stickers, and the wording on the license plate, I'd say this was a completely intentional homage. I take it nothing fits in there in trailer mode, and that would be a deal breaker for me. It's an awesome looking trailer though and as you said, the size is great.

Cliffjumper fits in the front half, he just can't drive over the lift with the roof closed. Mirage would probably fit on the lift, he's not any wider the cliffjumper is he? Sunstreaker and Sideswipe might fit in there too, when 2.0 rolls around. Or I suppose you could just take the car lift out.

Sorry about that Asphalt, I guess Gas Caps is the line. The cab on it is pretty Chibi looking. You'll want to look for the Semi-truck service centre. They had them in a couple different colours.

I thought the plate looked familiar, just realized why. Alt Nemesis Prime has California plates. Did the Kiss play version of Optimus have them too?

Yes, Mirage is wider. Specifically, his rear wheels are wider. I found this out when building my Classics Ultra Magnus armor. While Bubmlebee and Cliffjumper can fit through the rear uprignts, Mirage cannot, neither can Hot Rod. Mirage's rear wheels are too wide and so it Hot Rod's spoiler.
