Site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store posted a preorder for the Battle In Space Box Set. This set contains the same Cyclonus, Nightstick and Rodimus that was in the Challenge at Cybertron 3 Pack. This set also contains an Autobot Matrix of Leadership. It is unknown if this set will be available in stores.

OK, so it's a domestic release of Challenge at Cybertron, except without Galvatron, but a Matrix (the same kind as the Galvatron reissue's and New Year's Convoy) without a chain instead?

I just got the Challenge at Cybertron set today. I like the paint color scheme for Cyclonus better than the Henkei release, but the paint job on all of them is pretty cheap especially on Rodimus and Galvatron. I'm disappointed in that regard.

I have to disagree with you on this one. Hasbro got a lot of guff from fans about the Galvatron mold, both its size and quality, so offering up a cheaper (less than half the price!) pack, knocking out the reviled figure and keeping the superior-repaint Cyclonus and offering people the chance to nab a Classics Rodimus again seems like the perfect move. It'll sell great with collectors, and looks cool enough for the kids too.

I'm one of those fellows who paid out for the 3-pack, and I have to say it's fantastic. The Cyclonus is fantastic, Rodimus' colour scheme is cartoonish and ridiculous in the best of ways, and Galvatron, for all his issues looks great. And since all he has to do is sit on my SG shelf and look pretty, he does quite a fine job at that.

If this is the N. American answer to the 3-pack, I might get it. If it's another foreign release I'll skip it altogether. I just got rid of my Classics Rodimus after hearing that TFCC will be giving out Speedbreaker using his mold. Kinda hoping for a blue Protector armor.

a little disappointed at this, since I just bought the 3-pack, OTOH, I'd wanted Galvatron until I had firsthand experience of the mold. Not a big fan of the rub signs on these guys, but the Matrix would have been nice.

The rubsigns make me thing this is gonna be a Generations release. Which is just fine by me! I have 2 of all the molds, but I would like that cyclonus. The Matrix is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

I got the three pack when it first came out and it was $60 after shipping. This only being $24 is a very good deal. This will be my first G1 styld matrix, so its a def. buy.

If/when this shows up in stores, I might actually be willing to spend $20 on a more accurate version of Cyclonus... if i could figure out to do with the goofy looking Hot Rod repaint, or my darker Cyclonus figure.

I mean, I'm already trying to find an Animated Hot Rod to replace the Classics Hot Rod I have; getting another Classics Hot Rod with a worse paint job seems... silly.

I do have some black primer though...

My solution is simple - the Hot Rod will go to my son. He's 4 but is a HUGE trans fan already (I've taught him well). He's already seen all 4 seasons of the G1 cartoons, including the movie and has started to be able to transform figures on his own (simple ones...like G1 Blaster and Soundwave).

Anyway, he is the recipient of any figures that I already have that are replaced by a better version (I'm looking at you Universe Sunstreaker, Hound, and Inferno). He also gets any figures from situations like this where I want Cyclonus but not Hot Rod. It's a win-win!

Yeah, and so did the one for SOTA Toys' planned 5 inch version of the Robot Chicken humping robot figure. Then BBTS removed it completely about a week later.

I have the Matrix from the New Years Convoy, both Classics and Henkei of the Hot Rod and Universe Cyclonus plus I hate hate HATE rubsigns.

Hmm. That's worrisome. Or maybe Hasbro didn't give the okay to reveal it yet? I hope it still comes out.

Anyway, my solution for this Rodimus is that he stays in robot mode as Hot Rod at all times, the other original one wears the Protector suit as Rodimus Prime.

My question about this set, before i decide to pre-order will it hit state side or not? If not, then ill do a pre-order through BBTS. I will say this, i have both hasbro and Henkei version of Cyclonus, and of course Henkie looks to be the better version, but this version is alittle better than Henkei or am i wrong? And about Hot Rod, well i have the Hasbro and Henkei version of him too, but this version again...well....He'll stay in robot mode..
