I noticed there was was something up about the difference between Megatron and a Walther P1. I wonder why they didn't have a Megatron that would turn into a 44 Magnum instead. At the time of his original release, that was and maybe still be the most powerful and destructive handgun around. That's not to say that's the most powerful weapon in the world since an atom bomb would be more powerful.

That's because the toy taken from the microman line that would used as Megatron was the Walther pistol. They had to use the gun that he was.

That brings me to a little history lesson for you. Like the Mini-Bots, Megatron came from Microman, from the Gun Robo series this time. That range had three main figures, with 4 releases total:

- MC-07 Browning M1910 (based on the FN Model 1910 pistol), which was turned into the Japan-exclusive character Browning
- MC-11 S&W 44 Magnum
- MC-12 Walther P38
- MC-13 Walther P38 U.N.C.L.E., which was turned into Megatron

The 44 Magnum was a choice, but was skipped probably for esthetic reasons.

I decided that even if after I get enough money, I'm not going to get all the triple changers. I wasn't that impressed with Galvatron, but I definitely like Megatron. I also spotted Broadside and would like to add that one to my collection. I was pretty impressed with Optimus Prime. It's hard to say how many I'll wind up with. If that Bandai company ever gets tired of putting out larger versions of old Gobots, I hope they put out triple changers because Hasbro shouldn't be the only one.

If they're planning to put out nothing but Headmasters for a while, does this mean they won't do a toy line around the movie or that the movie will be centered around Headmasters?

No.

The Movie line is already coming out, and has nothing to do with headmaster beyond the one character that is a headmaster in the movie.

Movie lines are not affected by the general (generations) line's overall gimmick, as they are independent.

Will the movie line ones be available in stores? I hate TFSource's prices.

Whenever I see all those figures you have in that signature picture, I wish I could have some other them. Someone said I probably won't get Hot Rod because he's a Headmaster, but I may surprise them and get that one. Of course, I'd rather see them release the original G1 version for the same price; but beggars can't be choosers; and I'm a beggar if there ever was one. I have one idea for a gimmick that I don't think they've done before. They have, and they haven't. My idea would have ones that turn into frictionised vehicles where you pull them back when they're in vehicle mode and let them roll. I know G1 did that with Topspin and Twin Twist where you'd pull them back and they'd turn into robots, but I'm talking about ones that you would have to turn into robots yourself.

You really should explore this site some more. You found your way to the Forums, you can find your way the News and Sightings section where you'll find that yes, they will be available in stores and are even starting to turn up.

You'll be able to buy them from most places from next week in fact.

Yes, the movie line will be available in most stores that sell toys. Its a general release line.

And yes, I do love me some Hot Rods / Rodimii. You can probably find some of those on ebay or online stores like bbts or tfsource for relatively cheap.

I have one idea for a gimmick that I don't think they've done before. They have, and they haven't. My idea would have ones that turn into frictionised vehicles where you pull them back when they're in vehicle mode and let them roll. I know G1 did that with Topspin and Twin Twist where you'd pull them back and they'd turn into robots, but I'm talking about ones that you would have to turn into robots yourself.

I believe they did that for the Throttlebots in G1.

Buying from online stores can be a pain the butt because they often want credit or debit card numbers, which I don't have. I'd rather see them turn up in stores. I went to a store in Illinois that had a G1 Hot Rod, but it was loose with no instructions; and I couldn't figure out how to transform him. The comic book store I go to where I live now in Florida has Transformers, but it's the same deal. I flat out told him that if he got one that I could figure out how to transform, I'd get it. He also has little monster figures from Godzilla movies for five dollars each.

If you're stuck on hiw to transform something, just go on youtube and search a review of that figure. Neary every review walks you through the transformation. Some better than others.

I'll try that next week when I go to the comic book store. There's also the matter of figuring out the names of the figures and which version it is. I saw a newer version of Blitzwing once, but I've got no idea which one. If it had been the original Blitzwing, I could've done it easily because I got him for Christmas one year from my brother. I was the youngest in my family and a later in life baby, so my older siblings sometimes spoiled me.

I'm gonna assume you saw the Blitzwing from the Generations: Thrilling 30 line which came out a few years back.

He's slightly designed after the G1 character, but he also takes extremely large inspiration from the Blitzwing that was in Transformers: Animated - for instance, he has three interchangeable faces.

There's a new Blitzwing coming out in Titans Return in a month or two though directly modeled after the original G1 toy that might be to your liking - though they are a Headmaster like the Astrotrain you got.

I found a strange anomaly among the figures. I found a Decepticon Rumble that didn't appear to have any signs of a Last Knight figure, and it was labeled a Legends class Transformer, and it wasn't a Headmaster, and it had the price tag of a scout class Transformer. Since it was a triple changer, I just had to buy it.

That is the... Legends class? I think that's the name of it now. Figures from the Titans Return line. There's a couple of those, I believe Rumble is wave 2. But I could be wrong. There is also Ravage and Laserbeak in that wave. All are triple changers. Robot (or animal), vehicle (tank, plane, forklift truck thing respectively) and data pad. And the data pads go into the chests of the new leader class Soundwave. Rumble should have tiny pegs on him that you can use to peg titan masters (the name of these new headmaster heads)on so they can ride around on his tank mode. Of them, Rumble is the best mould.

The wave before had Rewind (same mould as Rumble) and Sundor? I think? Can't remember, but Sundor is the same as Ravage, but they have new paint and new heads. And go in the chest of the new Blaster. That wave also had a G1 screen accurate Wheelie who has a little cockpit for titan masters to sit in and drive, but wheelie isn't a triple changer.

Laserbeak's traditional repaint of Buzzsaw came out in the final wave of Combiner Wars.

Yes, according to the package, he's a Legends class Transformer; and he costs about ten dollars plus tax. He's also a pain to figure out how to transform, so I hope I won't have too much trouble finding the walk through YouTube video. I try to do a search for certain episodes of The Incredible Hulk, and I have a hard time, but I manage to find one that I haven't seen ever or too long.

If you bought him new, he should have instructions in the box so you won't need to get a review. But it should be much easier to find than tv episodes. Just look for "Titans Return Rumble" and you should get plenty of hits. Just remember to always take his gun out before you start to transform. I forgot with my Rewind and his gun has a nasty bend in it now.

It came with instructions alright, but I don't have to tell you that Transformer and Gobot instructions aren't photographic and can be tricky to figure out sometimes. I remember when Gobots were in business, once in awhile they'd put out one of those like Pathfinder that was difficult. The mini Autobot Cosmos was a lot easier.

I did it. I didn't go looking for a YouTube walk through video on how to transform Decepticon Rumble, but I managed to successfully turn him into a tank and a spy tablet.

I guess I vaguely remember G1 putting out Throttlebots that didn't transform when you pull them back and release them. I believe Gold Bug was one of them. I have another idea that Gobots did that Transformers hasn't, and that's have ones that turn into real working modes. There was at least one Gobot that turned into a working watch. Decepticon Ravage turns into a spy tablet, and they could put one out that turns into a working tablet that is capable of giving someone internet access. Since he's just a toy, I like the tank mode the best. I noticed a larger version of him that has a jet mode. I wish I could afford to get Optimus Prime right now because of the way his back part doesn't separate when he turns into something else.

Actually there are tf with working alt modes. Device label is the name of the line. They were only a few. Ravage and tigatron turned into working usb sticks. Blaster turned into a laptop that acted as a usb hub. Grimlock and trypticon turned into working computer mice.

And there is music label soundwave. G1 body that was a working mp3 player. Instead of ejecting cassettes, his chest heldbthe sd card. He came with little transforming and working headphones that turn into rumble and frenzy.

Yup, aside from the Galvatron, Superion and Ultra Magnus watches in Generation 2. Kurona, you're thinking of the Kronoform range that included Scorpia, Autoceptor and Deceptor, aren't you? The line was much bigger than that, having vehicles too and even a gun! :shock:

Well if I see any in stores, I'll try to get one even though the cost would likely be pricey. Laptops aren't exactly cheap; but if I can find one that turns into a working watch, I might get it depending on how many functions it has. I never get watches unless they're with seconds, have stop watches, hourly chime, alarms, and 24 hour time abilities. It would be really neat if they could come with a watch that had lunar phases, I'd probably get it or save up for it. It's people like me who would probably fit in well with the geek clubs.
