Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.
Hot on the heels of our other official images, Hasbro have also sent out official images of five of the figures in wave 2 of the Transformers Alt Modes line. Below you can see: Hound, Bluestreak (who is grey and red), Dirge, Sideswipe, and a Silver Optimus Prime. Although there’s no sign of the previously seen Bumblebee, Acid Storm, Cliffjumper, or Smokescreen it's likely that they'll all be coming soon. Check them out and let us know what you think of them in the comments below.
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

It's hard to get a sense of size on these since there is nothing in the display case to compare them to. Are the boxes the same size as Funko Pop Mystery Mini boxes?

Sunstorm looks more like Nova Storm than himself.

While we got the latest reveals in the Alt Modes line a few days ago, we now have some great news for fans wanting these: they have been found at retail.
Tigertrack has found the first wave at TRU in Metairie, LA.

I didn't expect these to actually be coming to mass retail toy venues. I was thinking they'd be more at home in places like gift shops, novelty shops, places that sell nick nacks and such.

Toysrus does have a whole section with stuff like this and other blind bag items.

It's interesting that these seemed to hit pretty uniformly at the same time across the country. I found these in CT earlier this week. Usually you see the first sighting out west somewhere, and then they trickle East.
Our podcast star xRotorstormx went wild on these new Alt Modes figures and bought the entire first wave and sent us pictures. While they are blindbagged, there is a small hole in the back where you can try to figure out which character is in the box. A video review after the images will show you how to find the one you want. You will also be able to get an idea of the scale of these when looking at the reviewer handling them. Thse are small 2.5 inch one step figures and the first wave features:
Megatron Ultra Magnus Optimus Prime Prowl (who looks super grumpy) Nemesis Prime Starscream Skywarp Thundercracker
Here are a few words from Rotorstorm regarding her new purchase:
Last night I was able to get my hands on these adorable (yes, I said adorable!) little figures from my local Toys R Us. To me, they are more of a display piece, much like Kreos, as they are simple 1-step figures but I found them quite enjoyable to play with.
They come in blind boxes, similar to the Loyal Subject figures, but much cheaper ($6.99 each). On the plus side, there is a small hole in the back of the box that allows you to see inside a bit so you can try and figure out what character is inside.
In vehicle mode, they look like Micro Machine versions of the G1 vehicle modes and have little wheels that you can drive them around which I got a kick out of. Be careful though with your Starscream nosecone, as I ended up somehow being able to spin him in the wrong direction and scuffed the tip a little.
In robot mode, they are a little top heavy...no surprise there... so it takes a little finagling to get them to stand without any support but it can be done!
and...if you feel compelled...decapitate your prowl to form PROWLASTATOR!
Overall, I think they all look good. Megatron and Prowl could use a little more paint detail but I love that the trucks remind me Micro Machines, Starscream has sparkly blue paint, and how can you not love sad face Prowl?
If you're looking for something simple and fun, I say pick some up. I'm definitely looking forward to wave 2!
//grumpy prowl out
Our other pocastig star, Tigertrack, got Prowl and took some comparison images to giv you a sense of scale.
Lastly, here is a video review of Optimus Prime and a quick quide on how to find the one you want.

Nuff said!
"One of them even took the time to smear, “Fans are TeH SUCK!!!” in poop all over my windshield!"
These might actually be kind of cool, if not for those big stupid logo tabs on the top of the head. For me that just ruins what would otherwise be a neat little inexpensive toy.
Sabr, this is the section I was referring to. Not sure if they will show up there or in the transformer aisle, but Toysrus does have a novelty blinbag collectables section:

Lucky Logician wrote:Why do some have colored logos but most have gray logos? Are the color ones the chase figures...?
I was wondering that myself. Both Magnus and Prowl have red autobot logos but Primes is Grey like the other decepticon logos.
Yes, the logos can be folded back onto the head to make them less noticeable.
The hole in the box makes for a pretty easy process. I ended up getting one of each with no duplicates but I took the time to shake the box while staring into the hole to see who was in there. It's pretty easy when a defining feature lands in the hole like one of the jet cockpits or just by the color
The large emblem on top is enough to turn me off. Then you add in them being top heavy and they're garbage. It's as if the designers initially thought these would be cute "transforming" Christmas ornaments. Then that idea was scrapped for mainline production. Couldn't you just see a small hole in the emblems for Christmas hooks? You could drill holes yourself I'm sure.
