Yeah, I gotta agree. I don't mind them changing a few things, but when they change a character so much, they need to stop kidding themselves. If it's essentially a new character, give it a new name.
But so far that's my only major grievance with the series, so they might be doing something right.
Then they lose the Trademark/copyright of that name and can no longer use it. Would you prefer that?
This isn't G1 Prowl, it's Animated Prowl, different character with the same name, just like there are oodles of Johns, Marys and Harrys out there in the real world, different characters, same name.
Well yeah, but they could at least make him look a bit like Prowl, we haven’t gotten a good aotobot cop car in awhile.
There's always Universe/Classics.![]()

Since youbeat me to it, I'm just chimming in to agree.
Chalk one up for comon sense!

Agreed, but beware Baricade finatics, when you say something like that

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I always thought that if they 'lose' the name that just means that they can no longer hold exclusive copyright to it. They could still have a character named Prowl if they wanted, but there'd be nothing to stop someone else also using the name.
If they lose it another company can claim it and stop Hasbro from using it. That or they could charge Hasbro a fee to use the name.

I'd love to have a Classics Prowl! I hope they make him, as it would be in Hasbro's best interest because I would also buy the Smokescreen and Bluestreak repaints/retools. Yes, I'm that much of a whore.
And as for RaptorJesus, I've seen it written a number of ways. I just tend to write it how the Pedobear writes it, but then again, he IS an internet superhero...
Forgive me O Mighty RaptorJesus! May You not strike me down with your teeth, claws, and Mac-10! As an offering, I offer the Longcat Rampage picture I hastily made for a Photoshop class.

We don't want to end up with 'Autobot Prowl,' or that kind of [Autobot] jazz. (Sorry, I had to.)

Check the news, they were seen this weekend, I think. Lockdown's a bounty hunter (inspired by Boba Fett) and Bumblebee is basically Hot Rod.

Oh yeah, they should totally do a classics Prowl. I'd definitely buy the Prowl and Smokescreen versions, and if they released the Bluestreak version first, probably wind up getting that too.
I don't buy repaints, but for Smokescreen and Prowl I'd happily make an exception.

Sounds like you know my ex-girlfriend. Hi-yo.
I think it's kinda of cool that this new Prowl dude's head is inspired by the Datsun Trio's (well, except for the long shape of course, they stole that from Bruce Campbell), he has the antenna coming out of the central crest thing!

I'd pity the foo' who actually pays for that, when they could wait a few months and get it for $10 at Wal-Mart.
As for the bio... Awesomesauce with a side order of cool beans, yo. I'm digging it.

With the recent addition of a few extra months onto that, it starts to seem like some vague distant point in the future that, who knows, may never come. I remember when classics seemed so out of reach. Just made you want them even more.
You have to wonder how much that is inflating these prices.

Don't remind me of how long I had to wait for my Classics... and my BWXs... And some Robot Heroes I missed out on... Gah! "Hurry Up and Wait," the story of our lives.

I don't have to ... you can just think about how long we gotta wait for the next lot of Classics/Universe. You know right now I'd kill for just the crappiest little jpeg image of a prototype, but at this stage they could even get pushed back further, anything could happen.
