We got 2 for the Ghostbusters crossover. One for Back to the Future (even tho I am hoping for a train version of Optimus) but we can't get an Enterprise Fortress Max from the Star Trek one? Doesn't need to be in scale!

Not sure what they'd retool "Fortress Tiberius" from, and even if they committed to a new mold I think the design might have some cheats to it. Plus, that crossover pre-dates Collaborative - there were no toy plans for it. And I don't know who the current license-holder for Star Trek toys is, so that could be another obstacle.

As for getting 2 from the Ghostbusters crossover, don't forget that one of those was just yet another redeco of MP-10, accompanied by some new accessories.

I would be cool with just about any of these crossovers as long as they had one specific feature... Stop being Walmart exclusive.

Btw, lots of eBay listings now all saying confirmed preorders. Score another win for the bots. Just not the cybertronian kind

In a strange way, this brings things full circle. In addition to Steven Spielberg executive producing both Back To The Future and the Transformers movies, Robert Zemeckis was considered at one point early on to direct the '07 movie. Hollywood is a very tangled web indeed.

And the VP Prime Master should absolutely connect to Gigawatt.

Oh, he's definitely a steam engine. But he's the wrong sort. He's a 20th-century heavy-duty Japanese locomotive, not a 19th-century American one. Boiler's too fat, tender's the wrong style (and compromised a bit by the shuttle mode), etc.

Did anyone get a pre-order in before all the bots swooped up the stock? Heard the pre-order limit was 12(!) and they have officially sold out. All over eBay though for stupid prices.

Where did you hear that? And nobody has, you just get the error page. There was a brief time when the page was live, but it was showing out of stock and went down again after a few minutes. I don't think anyone was able to order him. I've been refreshing hoping it comes back.

I also wouldn't trust those E-bay listings, since none of them actually have the product, and the insane prices, not to mention another wave of figures are confirmed for October.

I don't have Facebook or Twitter. But damn it. That sucks so much! So I guess all the scalpers strike again. Screwing over all the real fans and collectors once again. :'(

I'm not quite thrilled about the big stick, but otherwise this is pretty sweet. Kinda disappointed it doesn't scale with Ectotron, but that's a minor nitpick.

Doesn't look like a steam engine at all. The wheels are wrong, the cab at the front is like a diesel's, and overall he looks like a land battleship made of multiple train cars...

SIEGE Astrotrain is very much a steam engine. But he's still not exactly suitable for re-shelling into the time train because as with the G1 his altmode is based on a 20th-century 2-8-4 with a fat boiler relative to the cab, while the time train is a modified 19th-century 4-6-0, with a decidedly narrower boiler. And of course the wing hinges are too high..
Re-shelling SIEGE Astrotrain into the time train would take a lot of work, and probably result in funny-shaped legs. TR Astrotrain has the same hinge problem, and would probably be even more awkward to re-shell (his arms don't fold away at all.

Honestly, of any existing Astrotrain figure they'd probably have more luck re-shelling Classics Astrotrain. He's not a steam engine either, but his transformation scheme seems would be easier to work with. His arms tuck in quite nicely and he has telescoping legs...

But honestly, the time train is probably best done with a new mold. HasTak have not made much in the way of steam engines, and they've all been fat-boilered 20th century Japanese locos, and few if any non-train Transformers have the right raw profile in altmode..

In any case, Hasbro will probably wait to see how Gigawatt sells before making any move on the Time Train.

We'll probably get a redeco of MP-10 as the truck that carried the DeLorean right away, though. :-D

Never had issues ordering from GameStop, though they are an evil company and are overpriced. But dealing with Walmart has been nothing but a nightmare for me. And not just me, they are really bad. I could go into details, but I don't feel like writing a 10k+ word essay right now. Look up the Kenner retro Ghostbusters pre-orders online and you will get just a small taste of how people feel about Walmart exclusives right now

Excellent Question as far as people can tell the website only came up as error or out of stock. I'd like to know the timeframe of when it actually was online and how long it took to sell the 1985 units. Otherwise I'm calling B.S. on the whole thing. Someone with deep pockets contacted Walmart and made a deal, thus the reason the listing never actually went online.
