I was actually going to compare it to Blaster's cassettea but I didn't think you would get it...Oh that's right, every Bot has a Blaster, it's so rare on the Con side I forget sometimes

Yeah, he's added to the list of characters you can randomly get from a crystal. This crystal from the event just gives you a guaranteed one.

Worth noting that they don't add event bots to the regular crystals until a few weeks after their event. But D-Max, if you join the Seibertron alliance at any point this weekend, we'll let you slide on participation. Just get yourself an elusive bot for your future use. We're gonna get Octopunch soonish, we got to 28k out of 60k in 21 hours.

We got him Thursday night, Kuuga, Dizz added him.

Anyhow, I'm a bit late on this one because I had so very much going on around the 25th September, but..... the Twincast did a segment on Earth Wars in their episode for that week! Yay! The alliance got a couple of mentions and our own Epicvoiceguy (J0n3.0) is part of the team, so he was able to get in on the discussion!

What do the lot of you think about Air Units?

Generally I find most or all of them have extremely good abilities which make them worthwhile on a team. Starscream and Blast Off's Air Strike being able to one- or two- shot any single defence in the game (assuming you've been keeping them up to level) is absolutely invaluable, Thundercracker's EMP strike has proven useful to me on more than one ocassion to keep a mortar out of trouble, Scourge is good at sweeping a ton of weakened defences, Cyclonus and Viper's bombing runs are absolutely sick, I've come to see the finesse in Slipstream's fusion bomb recently, and Skywarp... is one of the few 2-stars I haven't got yet so I feel I can't comment on him adequately. He served well back in the days of using 1-stars though.

But as units, while they can deal out some decent damage... they often feel horrifically frail which really damages their effectiveness. But again, their abilities are in many cases just too good to not consider.

So how many Air units would you guys bring at max? I'm personally thinking that Screamer/Blast are good on their own without any others, but clearly Slipstream needs a fellow air unit to help pull off her bomb in most cases... hm. Thoughts?

he's okay. Just needs a CT scan to check his teeth, they are a bit "out of sorts" He is sore and stiff, but well. We are fortunate.

I typically build my team like this:
1 bulky specialist and 1 warrior (or 2 warriors), 2 gunners, 2 fliers, and I have to have someone who stuns (this means sometimes a gunner or the bulky specialist gets subbed for Skrapnel).

Fliers are indeed invaluable. Their low health is a tradeoff for their high DPS and midrange/long range abilities. And Skywarp's ability can actually do more damage than Starscream's at the same level, but over a longer period of time. He's great if you use him to hit something on the opposite end of the map before you get in range. I hope you get one soon. To use them, keep them behind your warriors. Let the warriors sponge the damage, especially with their abilities, while the fliers and gunners quickly take down the emplacements. Hopefully you can get yourself in situations where you've at least weakened opposing weaponry before you lose your warrior shield and your fragile guys take too much damage.
