I think someone at Activision screwed up and made Vortex look like Energon Stormcloud.

Guys, come on. Hasbro has done one single combiner with 5 figures of a single size before, and look how that turned out:

I'd say, wait until we see in hand images before passing final judgement.

in order individually from best (most like in game model) to worst (least)
unfortunately idont feel any deserve the number 1 spot but its gotta start somewhere...
1. Brawl - too skinny but at least this guys pretty close in both modes. looks effing rad!
2. Vortex (havent seen game model but this one at least doesnt look like a transformers for a three year old... he looks tight so points)
4. Onslaught - vehicle mode is AWFUL and robot is waay too skinny and crap... dont feel like he works at deluxe scale
5. Vortex - OMG... this guy is just plain upsetting... when i first saw the in game character model he instantly became my favorite WFC combaticon. but this toy... UGH. like chris evans before he became cpt. america >.<
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
11. Bruticus - the worst travesty against Bruticus ive EVER SEEN... i think g1 looks way more badass. i imagine this one walking through cybertron just destroying everything but NOT because hes awesome and kills ****, but because he just cant walk well and his limbs flail about everywhere... hes like aaaaaaaag why my limbs as big as my bod?!?!?!
so this is pretty bad guys... i dont care about the money toy rules blah blah blah... look at the LACK OF EFFORT to make these guys even look cool. I feel like they basically had these guidlines for making the toy:
1. make each character transform into the proper vehicle and at least sort of resembe the actual characters.
2. Make DAMN SURE they can all combine into Bruticus. NO MATTER THE COST.
well it costed them a potentially AMAZING figure. and even more potentially... it could have been THE BEST "Figure" hasbro has ever released and they could have redeemed themselves. EVERY fan would forgive hasbro if they just made ONE really awesome combiner.
I am terribly let down and sad that i know i will still purchase these in hopes of making him look cool >.<

For everyone who is complaining about the hands not having finger articulation: If you look at the picture of Vortex's right leg (The one on your left) you can see a hand with fully extended fingers! Now if you were looking for individual finger articulation...your chances are not looking good lol. Still Stoked!

Re: Transformers Fall of Cybertron Bruticus Fully Combined Toy Image
I finally figured out why I don't like WFC style figures after seeing Blast-off here.
Making a robot that can turn into an accurate representation of something real involves a certain amount of artistry. The best examples here are Alternity and Alternators which often not only had decent robots changing into scale cars but often incorporated weapons too. That's great design work.
WFC figures? What they change into doesn't look anything like anything. It should be a license to produce the best robot modes ever because whatever it turns into can just be a mess with wheels/wings and they'll call it Cybertronian. But often the robot modes don't look that great either.

Chill, dude.
Again, if you don't get the impression that this thing is OBVIOUSLY MISTRANSFORMED, there is no hope for you. Wait until you see the real deal. It may surprise you. Nah, it WILL surprise you.

And that's why you should never, ever compare modern toys with G1. Because:
1) Most importantly, the hands and feet were separate pieces in G1 (partially a necessity for the Scramble City gimmick). Nowadays we expect them to be integrated into the designs as we consider separate pieces "cheats" and therefore make the figure "suck".
2) Speaking of cheats, we are a lot less forgiving because we know what Hasbro is capable of, but aren't we expecting too much sometimes, given the limitation of costs, Toy Safety Laws (hello, big hulking piece of plastic here!) and above all playability?
I'd like to finish with a Dutch proverb: "wie het kleine niet eert, is het grote niet weert" (One who doesn't appreciate the little things, isn't worth the big things).

Oh dear Lord! It's certainly not what I was expecting. The odd claim of mis-transformation is probably correct but I'm not sure that it'll make all that much difference. The editied image posted by CaTZ makes it look 100x better, but I'd be surprised if the arm connectors can be concealed that much, and they're the biggest problem. Hideous combined-weapons form too.
Blast-Off isn't too bad. His design with the massive shoulder pads makes me think of WFC Air Raid, and I like the semi-steam punk vibe of his vehicle form even if it is a bit chunky.
Vortex though is just "no!" No to the colours and no to the vehicle mode. It looks like some kind of hybrid animal from Avatar: part dragonfly, part hummingbird. Robot mode redeems him slightly. If I do get him it'll be Takara's (most likely) correctly coloured version.
It's not that I don't appreciate the effort Hasbro have finally put in to making a decent combiner, but as it stands it's simply not winning me over. I'm happy for those who are happy with and can afford to pay for a good effort, but I'm not one of them. I do hold to a small amount of hope for Toy Fair this weekend.

Not to mention most of the fans complaints now would apply to Predaking if he were released for the first time today. He's a brick, the colours are too bright, the fists don't stow anywhere etc.

It's still better than what we've had post-G2:
- BW Tripredacus: weird hands
- RiD Landfill, all modes: weird hands
- Energon Powerlinx Combiners: weird hands, doubles of limbs
- Power Core Combiners: limbs have no robot modes

Most of you guys are being incredibly negative. It's a five member official gestalt made with modern toy technology, with each member in the deluxe class. It's a feat, and it's going to be a hell of a lot less expensive than any silly third party thing. Brawl looks just like he popped out of the game, Blast Off looks amazing in both modes, Vortex is great, albeit in some odd color scheme (I think he has RID Ro-Tor's red?) Swindle is neat (the biggest knock against him is that has his Alternators face instead of his proper one, so no big deal at all) and Onslaught... Onslaught clearly had to have certain compromises in order to be a torso with a combiner mode head. I wish he had his War for Cybertron body. Still, he's adequate. Bruticus looks pretty great, if obviously mistransformed. I'm excited for the Combaticons to come out!
