I love the dinobots, and Rhinox is a magnificent transformer, but overall I really don't lean too hard on them. Beast Wars was cool and I loved the series and the characters, but I honestly prefer standard-formers to beastformers. just my feelings

Even though I am a Beast Wars kid, I actually preffer more mechanical alt modes over organic ones simply because it works better with the robot aesthetic (doesnt have to be beasts though, I also dislike the cybertronian organic thing they were going for with the first two looks of Movie Megatron). Also, it makes for more interesting transformations (which the first 2 movie megatrons dont have either
). I really disliked as a kid how the majority of mammal beast formers used the same parts for the robot and beast limbs. In beast machines, you would just change the head and bam! transformed. I found that quite lame as a 10 year old. None of the transformations I have marvelled at most in my collection are from Beast Wars.

Same here!
Oh and not that they were all bad in beast machines, but my favourite mold was Tankor and Jetstorm, two non beasts. And that Tankor while not screen accuate is a far better toy than the generations version we got last year.

I thought the Generations Tankor was ok! I've got it, granted it's far from screen accurate nor original toy accurate, but I thought it was ok.
The deco isn't what deters Generations Tankor from being show-accurate. It's the altmode. Or rather, it the toy's inability to undergo an impossible-for-reality metamorphosis into the tank mode design of the cartoon model. When Tankor or his drones transformed in the show, they underwent a "morphing" of sorts to convert into a tank mode that the robot mode otherwise could not naturally convert into via practical non-cheating means. It is because the Generations toy chose to go with a realistic, "non-cheating", "actually feasible" philosophy in its transformation that the toy's tank mode ends up being show-inaccurate.william-james88 wrote:Stuartmaximus wrote:william-james88 wrote:D-Maximus_Prime wrote:The generations beast wars molds did work out pretty well though. I thought it was pretty spot on for screen accuracy. What in the deco wasnt screen accurate?

Yeah, been pretty slow with the super g1 love fest of the recent mp reveals, so I've just been reading the threads.
Also, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will get the technobots, with a more completely re-shelled scattershot (this one will be the proto-type that fits the play-pattern, a later one could then have a much higher budget allowance) they have a standardized system for combining, they WILL milk it for every f$cking scent it can get, or they aren't a big corporation focused on making money - and if they truly don't, I will actually be speechless.
They probably just want the 'combiner fatigue' or 'mold fatigue' to wear off first.
McTankor worked backwards compared to Generations Tankor, starting from a show-accurate altmode first instead of a show-accurate robot mode. The robot mode is close, but the arms are extremely thin and the legs are virtually nonexistent by having the feet near-directly connected to the torso. Plus the cannon's attached to the head instead of the shoulder.RAR wrote:I thought the MacDonalds Tankor was pretty accurate he looks mostly right in both modes and isn't elongated like the Generations toy.

The only thing better is if they remade this as the promo poster, and made it totally heavy metal.

Yeah, but they couldn't do that exactly, cuz then they'd have to release a scorponok too

Yeah, but it would be an expensive year for you guys if they made them both titan class, and released several in one year, and, let's be honest, no one here would hear the end of it
