I personally feel that that's what's needed in a line like this to enable the justification of scrambling - give it a purpose, like enabling different 'super powers', definitely what's best for it.

I agree, or show a tactical side to scrambling, like in the comics show that if the arm gets damaged someone else could jack in to replace the arm.

Rook however benefits from my head cannon, as he can turn his hulk fists into rocket punches!

Plus I assigned Alpha Bravo the role of sniper, silently hovering till the perfect shot appears...then he takes it..

That's pretty cool, wish they came with more of a variety of guns, would kill to get a sniper rifle for my tf's

I am totally on board calling that Alpha Bravo mold one of the best. I have a question for you guys though, doesnt it make such a better leg than arm? I love how the rotors look in leg mode, it just seems like such an organized and stable limb that way.

Yeah, he rocks in leg mode, the arm mode always felt so cluttered with his arms and floppy rotor assembly crowding up his upper arm
I think the Copter mold is one of the best appendage bots, top or bottom. Love the tail fin as a knee cap, and as a shoulder fin. Plus the proportions just loo good in either. I fold the arms up and over like Ag showed, but haven't tried putting the blades in his fists. I'll have to try that.
My favorite arm is Dragstrip/Mirage though.

It's definitely a flamethrower - which is AWESOME :michaelbay:

But I need, like, a Cynicus level sniper rifle, you know, a proper one that's amazing 8-)

My fave arm is easily Rook or First-Aid, and the best leg is handily First-Aid 8-)

Rook and Air Raid are by far my favorite arms, and any mold originating from Offroad and Alpha Bravo my favorite legs. When I get Victorion, she will be having the helicoptor twins as legs since they make awesome legs and are uniform. Plus they'll look awesome with the heels :BOT:

I have a tough time with the dead-end/streetwise mold as a leg. I hate having that overlip decend and see the car innerds, it clashes with the rest of the limbs since it is right there in your face. I usually flip that car front up to make some kind of kneepad instead but it doesnt look as good as Offroad or First Aid which are awesome legs.

Yeah same here. I think maybe two Stunticons and two Protectobots would suit Galvatronus just fine. (I have been wanting Blades, and I have been dying to get Streetwise mostly because of the comic book he comes with which contains art from Corin Howell who is the best comic artist ever!) I kinda wanna either get Offroad if available for my other Stunticon, or Breakdown as my backup. With all the hate Breakdown is getting I sure do like how he LOOKS.

Agreed! I simply LOVE how he looks as an arm and would definitely not mind having a couple versions of that same mold, even though I may not be able to. :BANG_HEAD:

See, I never liked the look of the car hood flipped down either, which is why Breakdown is an arm, and I love the kneepads, and while the deadend mold doesn't do as good a job as the offroad mold, it still works. and because the kneepad design for the offroad mold is so good, it doesn't make that good an arm for me. Either way, it seems each mold has it's strong point. I can't really thing of any mold that is completely awesome in both. Brawl maybe, but he feels much more natural as a leg :BOT:

I never liked breakdown or dead-end and brothers as legs b/c they're so flat and wide, it loses all sense of realistic proportions most of the other limbs provide (with possible exception of Rook as a leg... elephantine kneecap :HEADHURTS: )

That's pretty cool, must be something then that can lead people to assign him that role.

Hmm there's an idea, the combiner gets a super weapon depending on who is attached as an arm, like Alpha Bravo would give an ultra sniper rifle in the form of a rail gun or firefly gives a colossal flame thrower

Wow I get mixed up between Mairghread Scott's art and Corin's. I'm stupid.

This is Corin Howell's art:

And this is Mairghread's art: Image

Both are amazing, (alpha) bravo to both of them.

I think it's mostly that, just like a lot of male Transformers artists have a similar style, these two female artists have a similar style to each-other too. Their art is just more fluid and not overly complex. Their art is less focused on how the cogs and stuff look and making sure everything is symmetrical, and more focused on the character. (And please do not say I am sexist because I am not, I was merely stating how IDW's male Transformers artists have a different style from the female artists, that's all. People are just too touchy these days.)

After giving it more thought, and reading y'all's thoughts, I really don't have that many complaints about the limb Bots as limbs. Rook IS a great arm. Off Road and cousins are awesome in both positions. Love the kneecap or shoulder pad with the truck mold. I'm not a huge fan of the sports cars as arms, they usually end up being legs, and I just think Dead End's only saving grace is his car mode, period.
So over all these limb bots really do a great job with function and form in their limb modes. This really has been a well engineered line for ultimate play value. There are other downsides, but we always have to take the good with the bad, ya know?

As to the cool notion of Alpha B as a sniper, and finding a good rifle for him...

wait a minute! hasn't Rook been officially rejected by Hasbro as a limb for Defensor?(even though he still appears as an arm in that artwork)

& yes! you can still use Rook how you like! that of course......is up to you.

If I am remembering correctly, Streetwise has the comic that comes months before Howell even did art for the comics....He comes with combiner wars prelude stuff I think :BOT:

Wow I get mixed up between Mairghread Scott's art and Corin's. I'm stupid.

Erm, Silly? That is Sarah Stone's art. Mairghread is the writer.....

Stuartmaximus wrote:then obviously you won't be using Smokescreen as a leg then? maybe Trailbreaker or Hound?

I don't know who this was aimed at, but I'm gonna answer for myself. When it comes down to those limbs, TB, SS, Hound and Sky Lynx will be displayed solo most of the time. Wheeljack shall join Optimus Maximus in place of Mirage, and my cousin got me a second Prowl for christmas, so OM will be Ironhide, 2 Prowls and Wheeljack, occasionally being divided up but mostly combined. Sky Lynx shall mostly stand alone too.
Now Hound, Mirage, SS and TB will combine with Cyclonus to for the Lost Light combiner Galvatronus to go with Defensor. Sunstreaker is also on that shelf, so I will occasionally switch one character out for another. But at this point, my plan is to have Mirage and Smokescreen as legs for the kneepad design (and mirages invisibility powers and Smokescreens well, smokescreen) with Hound and Trailbreaker forming arms, so Trailbreaker as a limb can be used to generate forcefields. Hound will bring tactical knowledge and Cyclonus bravery, courage and strength. Sunstreaker will drop in when speed is needed, moving in as a leg (yes, don't normally like him as a leg but he actually doesn't look too bad hooked up there, I've checked), and Either Hound or TB being swapped for Smoke as an arm with the other providing backup (most likely TB, so he can use his forcefield). :BOT:

& yes! you can still use Rook how you like! that of course......is up to you.

Considering the amount of mistakes made on those pages, I think it's safe to say that they can be ignored.

I mean the information on the packing disproves it!
