Everyone was wondering who Magnus could be redecoed into and no one thought to pull another Megs and put out 2 of the same character from different universes from the same mold

We have several:

1) Armada Overload
2) IDW Delta Magnus
3) BW Quickstrike

Was thinking HasTak could repurpose CW Ultra Magnus into IDW Roller Tarn. Maybe repurpose it into Power Master Optimus Prime.

Think Armada Overload is a great idea. Just don't think it would sell great. As it's a obsecure character.

i would like to see how they would pull off another universe Magnus out of this one
but this mold is also so unique to this G1 look it might not be done but on the other hand evey leader class since jetfire has had another character made from the same toy so it would be expected

No. They are two completely different characters. IDW is based off of G1, but that's it, and loosely at that.

Never mind, misread that; the point is Takara replaces the Freddie Mercury minimus ambus minifigure with Alpha Trion. It's not a new mold, just a purple repaint of ambus. So going with TT's you lose most of what makes this version of Ultra Magnus IDW.

No. They are two completely different characters. IDW is based off of G1, but that's it, and loosely at that.

IDW's main comic is a new and different version of G1, is what people mean. There is no one single "G1 Ultra Magnus", as there's the cartoon version, the UK Marvel Comics version, the Dreamwave comics version, the IDW comics version, and more.

Don't care. Would make more sense than Trion since Raikuru is a Micromaster and supposed to be tiny. And would give us the first toy of another obscure cartoon-only Japanese-original character. Takara could come up with some story in their pack-in Legends manga to explain why the two come together.

Honestly if you're you want something so obscure Takara dosen't even care about it; you might be going to far. Also Alpha trion makes sense in that depening on your view of the Magnus/prime relationship, it's like getting Optimus prime's brother, and mentor in the same pack. Honestly I doubt takara will even acknowledge the minifigure's meant to go in ulttra magnus's chest.

It would have been great if the cavity in Magnus could have been configured to fit a full-size CW Legends class figure. As it is, it's cool, but Minimus Ambus is too darn small (cute as a button, though!).

exactly, Generation One is not just the original cartoon or original comic. IDWs main universe is a Generation One universe. Why do you think the IDWs Magnus is in the Gernreation One section of tfwiki.net or this toy under the G1 toys page.

It's a Generation One universe. One of many.

thats like saying Reveal the Shield Spec Ops Jazz isnt a G1 character because it was called "reveal the shield" it is. it's G1 Jazz.

Thanks once again to weibo user Starscream韋, and via a tip from Seibertronian grimlockdown, we get our first actual look at the newly repurposed Generations Leader Jetfire as the head of the Seekers himself, ruler of Cybertron, fabulous miscreant and Chosen One - Lord Starscream. Check out the images below, showing off the character's traditional deco, complete with null rays, arm cannons and a coronation crown that seems straight from the animation *and* IDW comics.
