Earlier today, got my Combiners wars G1 Megatron toy delivered to me from Walmart.com. Think it's a nice looking toy. Can't wait to get the DX9 add ons and apply them to this toy.

I'm feeling lazy. Got a link to the Seibertron thread about that kit?
Because I'll be buying only if it dosent impede the vehicle mode or the transformation.

There are two kits out there:

X2Toys - CW Megatron Upgrade
DX9 TOYS AL-01 for CW Leader Megatron

X2 is stupid. What's the point of hiding the whole figure?
DX9, on the other end, I may buy. But I'll need more info, especially for the tank mode.

Also, what's up with 3rd party companies and all those X everywhere?

Because X's are cool. Especially if there is three of them.

That DX9 kit does look good. I even like the vehicle intergration.

I just can't decide what to do about the "Generations Magnus Dilemma". Do I go down and dirty for the quick high of Hasbro's, or do I wait and bide my time for Takara's?
I CAN'T HANDLE THIS. AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHH!

Here is my solution. I will wait to buy the Hasbro one until Takara's is available to preorder on amiami or hlj. If within that time, the hasbro version goes to 30$ like Jetfire did, then I buy it. Because then I bought a 30$ toy and not a 50-60$ one and I wont mind the lack of paint, it will be an easy sell instead. BUT, if it never goes on sale, then I will simply buy the Takara for what will be the exact same price as buying the hasbro one in store. And thus will own a toy worth 50-60$.

So either I buy a toy for 30$ worth that much or a toy for 60$ worth that much. No guilt either way.

Finally opened up my Leader Thundercracker. He really is better in person. I love the headsculpt, and the jet-mode is just absolutely wicked.

You dont mind the holes on top where jetfire's jet guns used to be?

No more than I mind the 5mm hole on Legends Thundercracker. It's really just a small thing that doesn't impede my enjoyment of the figure.

The colours make a big difference but there isnt that much new in terms of paint apps, just some yellow here and there.





The big difference for me is that I know alpha trion more than minimus ambus. But alpha trion riding magnus isnt anywhere in the fiction, so I am having a hard time coming up with what I want out of this toy.

More blue on the trailer works like a charm and the red looks verrrrrry nice. I'm holding off untill I see some in-hand pics of Takara Magnus. I want to know if he looks just as nice as the official pictures. And since I don't read the IDW comics, Minimus Ambus doesn't mean a single thing to me. There's at least a GEEWUN connection in Takara's version and that (drumroll) I can deal with.

i for one agree with you, never heard of Minimus Ambus until the reveal of this figure so A-3 or Minimus doesnt matter all i see is Ultra Magnus

If anyone cares, here's my take on Magnus. I'm 32 issues into MaTuMTEe, and it's fantastic! Best TF fiction since Beasties. The Minimus thing is a cool take on UM. I can handle it as pick and choosey as Mara Jade or Azog The Defiler.
But, for me the concept that Magnus is of the same build of commander class, elite guard, or what have you, as Prime is what I cling too. He just got left behind to defend Autobot City with few resources to work with so they gave him that super dope battle armor. In my little imaginary world, he'll always be a white Prime type truck in a suit.
So, I do like the Trion paint job because, he's neat in his own right, and it lends itself to some new cool imaginary play. It's still the Minimus toy, which is great if I wanna play that way. Plus, it's not like Freddie Mercury never changed his costume.
